Our bug is 14 months today. Crazy. She is like a little parrot now a days. She is constantly trying to repeat and say everything you say. She is always randomly spouting off words I didn't know she could say. She still speaks her own language and loves to tell you stories. She loves to sing, it's adorable. She covers her mouth when she laughs and I love it. She's taking more than a few steps. She is now walking more on her own, but she still prefers crawling. I think I can say she is officially walking now-right at about 14 months. She is getting more confident in letting go of you or an object and going herself. She doesn't know how to stand up with out pulling herself up yet, but she is getting the walking part down. With her cousins here this week, she thought it was especially fun. She even claps during one of these clips. She was almost too giggly/excited to stay up. It was too cute. Here is a little video of Gabe walking back and forth between us all.

MY TRIATHLETE
He did it, and he did awesome. This weekend we had Adam's first official triathlon. He's been training and gearing up or it for the last few months. He lets everyone know it's just a sprint, and it's no big deal. I am here to tell you it is something I wouldn't be able to do. He is amazing. With our niece and nephew in town (another post about their visit will follow later) we had a bigger cheering section than just Gabe and myself. It started out with his quarter mile swim. It made him the most nervous. It was tricky taking off with everyone around you running into each other. Once he got into his flow of things, he did great. Every 5 minutes they would start another age group to the race. He was racing against 19 other guys in his age group, and 366 people in the whole race. At the end he gets his age group times and then his overall times.
Here he is freezing in the 65 degree water and 6:50 in the morning-warming up to start (he's the one with the goggles looking this way)
-Not sure which one he is-They all blur together in the water. Just a bunch of speedo heads
He transitioned fast to the biking part of the race. We didn't see him take off, cause he left too fast. The biking portion was 3 miles up a steep incline over 1,000 feet in elevation, and back down to the lake. It doesn't sound too rough, but once you see the mountain road he had to ride, you'd die. I couldn't believe it when I saw it. It was insane. He was now in his element doing the biking part. I can honestly say I was so surprised by how fast he came down the hill finishing the biking part. When he finished the swim he was at the end of the mid section of swimmers. When coming down the hill he was within the first ten guys. Wahoo babe!
I got a picture once he was down and starting to unclip his shoes to transition to the running
He then continued on to the 2 1/2 mile run. We waited by the finish line to cheer him on. As far as results go, he got 4th place in his age group! Isn't that awesome? He was so fast at the biking that it made up for his slower swim time. Overall he got 46th place out of the 366 people competing. Pretty impressive if you ask me. It was hard to juggle 2 cameras, a stroller with a cranky toddler, and 2 tired kids-but it was so worth it. It was so great to see him so excited to accomplish his goals. Now he's already planning on bigger and harder races. I think this is a start of a wonderful thing.
Here is a random movie of clips throughout the thing. I didn't get him in all of it, but tried to show how he moved from one thing to another. If you care to watch-it's fun to see. At the end we're just hanging out watching the international athletes race.
Hanging out by the finish line to watch all the people behind him come in :)

Summer Fun
Our summer has been really busy. The pictures are of the same summer things that we do all the time-so they are kinda repeats. I figured that I'd post them anyway to show everyone what we've been up to.
Adam has been gone the last few days camping with the scouts-we girls have been hanging out at home having fun.

We ventured to this little water park they have here. Gabe wasn't the biggest fan as she continually got splashed in the face. She did love splashing her hand in the water and walking through the puddles.

We love the park-and the fact that it's close to our house.
There is our summer summed up in some pictures. This is what we've been up to now that Adam's summer class is over. We have an exciting visit from Braden and Deandra around the corner, Adam triathlon, and then our trip to Utah. We're in for a fun-busy month.

Happy Independence Day!
Our 4th was a lot of fun. Adam got up and went for a mountain bike ride with some buddies. When he got home we headed to a ward members house to have a barbecue with some other friends from the ward. Following that we came home to play with Pop-its with Gabe. She loved them! She couldn't get enough. (See the video below) They are the only kind of fireworks allowed in Nevada. Everything else isn't even sold here, cause it's so dry. Kinda sad we miss out on sparklers, but I'm over it. We put her to bed early so she could get a few hours in before we headed to the second half of our Reno Aces baseball game. She loves to dance and clap and flirt with everyone around her. She loved eating popcorn and her pretzel. She did awesome. At the end of the game they did a patriotic presentation, a quick light show, then some fireworks. We wondered how Gabe would do with the loud fireworks right over us. She laughed, pointed, and squealed with delight the whole time. Hurray. She was such a trooper for such a late night. It was so nice to hang out with each other. I hope everyone else had a great time. Here are some pics from our day. We had to dress Gabe in her patriotic baseball shirt for the day. Then of course she had her "pretty" on all day. (her necklace)

Blurry I know, but she was so excited
