Date Nights!

Hello February! It's so nice to see you! Life has chilled out. Our boys have had some super hard time adjusting and have some serious attitude/fits. So it's nice for things to calm so everyone can adjust. So far Feb has been nice. Besides me being sick most of the month, we'll take it. We had some date nights recently. Adam had a client give him tickets to a BYU dance ballroom performance that they couldn't make it to. Gabe and I were happy to have them. Meanwhile the boys did their own fun stuff. They had pizza at a park and then went to a dollar movie. Milo got a little crazy/fit throwing towards the end, but other than that their night was great.
We went shopping at Michaels to get art supplies for her Daydreams and Dandelions for her school. (like a reflections art contest) She's been wanting to do them, so this year we did. Gabe chose Brick Oven for dinner. She loves the pasta
We sent pictures back and forth to each other.
The place set up a red carpet and lights to walk on as you came in. It was super cute and Gabe loved it. We were confused when we showed up and it was all old people. No really I thought I was not supposed to be there. We saw one other mom and kids and one youngish couple. The rest was a sea of white heads. Adam says it's cause they are the ones that hear about that stuff first and go to it. I'd pay for it in the future it was so much fun. Gabe and I said it was like watching dancing with the stars with a bunch of old people. She thought it was funny we were surrounded.
I had to take a picture to show Adam I wasn't kidding about no young people.
A picture with some dancers. Gabe loved this dress the best. On stage under the lights it was so pretty she said.

Jan Happenings

It's kinda nice to just do a post of every day life. January slowed down some, so we got to adjust a bit. Daddy was busy with work, and rotary, scouts, and everything else in life. My kids had a hard time adjusting to the holidays and my new calling. My boys were emotional wrecks. Gabe was even more emotional too. I had sharing time which was fun and still my favorite part about primary, but still not ideal timing. Oh well. I feel like I never stop saying that now a days.
Milo's "mad" face
More fun at school -he built an airport
This girls night. I don't love big group stuff, but I was a good sport and went and it was ok. :/
Doing a lot of Primary shopping. I usually have someone tagging along with me. Ollie learned it's not always that bad.
Such nice weather lately.
We had our 11 year Anniversary! It was very low key. Our babysitter moved when the primary pres did, cause it was her daughter. And we haven't found someone we love. Usually when we have big stuff Kay offers to watch the kids, but her Anniversary is the 13th and it doesn't always work out depending on what they end up doing. So we wondered if we'd even go out this year. Last year we didn't cause of sick kids and a broken leg. So we were just super grateful things worked out and Kay offered to watch them. We went to dinner and a movie. Adam had like 3 lunch appointments that week and already ate at good places so I just made him go to Benjas. I actually wanted something else but he had had most other kinds of food that week. It was still good though. We finally got to see the Star Wars. We aren't huge fans, but we watched the other ones to get caught up for this one. We actually really like how different this one was compared to watching the same things happen in six movies. Probably didn't help we watched them all in a row and it was a tad annoying but we did it. Ha!

Nice weather for bike rides! Our kids are very into bikes right now it's fun.
Such a random picture, but Milo tried so hard one night to be helpful and load our napkin holder. He got  tad frustrated so I had to take a picture. It was cute.
My kids haven't seen the star wars movies, we let them watch the Lego ones, cause they are a nicer for young kids. With Star Wars stuff everywhere they are loving it. So we have Star Wars fights at night time on teams when they glow. We only have 3 light Sabers, so I usually get whatever sword we can round up. These are our fighting poses just like the Jedis do in the movies right before they fight.
Our one and only snow storm that they really didn't get to play in. It melts by the time they get home from school. So when the boys got home They got all the snow off the tramp to make a snow castle together. (underneath it in the mud)
This is a picture Ollie took during a Primary meeting. Kinda made me laugh. This is kinda my boys life right now. They get to get brought along to meetings and errands for primary a lot.

Happy New Year!

New years was so fun this year. We always on the Monday night before the actual holiday, for family night watch our pictures in a video from the year and talk about our favorite memories and big things that happened. Obviously from 2015 they were a trip to NZ, and Ollie breaking his leg, Adam breaking his collar bone, Milo being potty trained and starting school, and Gabe trying new things like her Musical Theatre class, and Chinese class getting more advanced. We had some good trips, so good visits from people, and some crazy sicknesses. We survived and had good times. Out with the old and time for the new. We were gonna invite people over but it seems like it just never happened. It ended up being a good thing. Our family needed some fun bonding time.
We love getting new games for Christmas. If family don't get us any, Santa usually brings some as family gift so we can play them on New Years. We had some fun new ones this year.
Adam loved this kid Farming Game that Laurel and Trav got him. (The kids did too of course but probably him the most)
We did some pop fireworks in the house. It was way windy that night, same as last year. We lost Milo around ten, and the others slowed way down come eleven that we ended up convincing them to go to bed around eleven thirty. Kinda lame we were almost there, but we were all beat.

Before school started the Wagners came and visited us for the day. Actually for a few hours, but we'll take what we can get. They really are some of our oldest Reno friends and we haven't seen them in a few years. They just moved down to Vegas for a job so we are super excited that they will be closer and that we can get together with them more often.
Crazy to see how big our kids got, and to even have them meet Milo.

New Years resolutions usually inspire me to do good things. I was kinda already burnt out in life and not normally as motivated as I could be. I have started running again to try and build it back up. My knee is objecting, but we're getting there. I'll run in most anything, and i'll take the rain over the wind. I did have to skip out on the snow day though. The only time I don't run is when I'm down for a week sick with monthly girl fun, but life goes one. Our next trip to London I definitely won't be New Zealand skinny, but hopefully by summer time I'll be better. Good thing no beach time in London.

CHRISTMAS!!!

Christmas was tricky this year. Everything about it. New calling was bad timing and I was kinda a slacker mom compared to my normal holiday cheer. I just kinda needed it to be over with. Too much crazy. Even when I tried to "take days off" from Primary stuff, stuff still came up. Guess I don't get to choose when I will do my calling. I have now managed to schedule it out more, now that's it's chilled out. ANYWAY, we still did manage to have SUCH a nice holiday with such a nice break. Love having my kids at home hanging out with me. Some moms don't love it, but I do and I'm sad when they go back. I count down to summer. Here are some pics from the day and a few from our winter break.
We have a 3 gifts rule. Jesus got 3, they get 3, so it's not too nuts. They get plenty from other people that it ends up good. For now it works out for us. We did have to juggle the size of things and making that seem even, but everyone was happy in the end.
We spent a lot our holiday break building legos that took days to build.
We did a lot of playing with new toys, cuddling, watching shows, etc. Very relaxed and really what we all needed.
Gabe did go with some friends to the kids museum where they had Grinch stuff set up.
