The 2 Essentials

Just so you know the dictionary says the definition of essential is: Absolutely Necessary;extremely important. With that being said, let me fill you in on the 2 essentials in a day with Gabe.
Number one, dancing. Yep everyday there is some form of dancing in our household. She knows how to turn on the cd player and start a cd. She has always been a dancer, and loves music. There isn't a day that she isn't turning on the cd player and dancing. She makes sure you join in to dance with her. It's super cute. As soon as Adam walks in the door she turns it on, and makes him dance with her.
Number two, for those of you who have been around Gabe anytime recently know she loves to talk. She doesn't stop. She rambles and rambles and tells anyone a story that will listen. She mixes in words she knows, but mostly it's her own language. Adam said to me one day. "Do you think when she says real words she'll talk that much?" I hope so. :) Her newest thing is singing. So now she ramble sings. If she isn't dancing, she is talking talking talking/singing. Here our some videos to show you. The first two are kinda long, but fun.

I started a video with a bunch of her dancing clips. If you care to watch it, you can see her dancing skills evolve.

This video is of her ramblings. She was talking to herself in the beginning and I had to grab the camera. She then has a conversation with me, and then she breaks out in song. She did have a cold for this one, so she's a little more raspy than normal.

This one is for Danni. I tried getting her to say her cousins name. I got one good one out of her (good for Gabe language anyway), the rest she was getting shy.

CARVING PUMPKINS

This week we did some pumpkin carving. Blogger is wiggin out about loading my pictures, so they are in a random order. It's also late, cause Gabe is having a tricky night. So here I am-bloggin. It's okay though I've been meaning to post them. We carved with some friends one night, and finished our Elmo pumpkin later in the week. Gabe jumped right in to help clean out the pumpkins. She loved it. Slimey pumpkin goo and all. She even tried to help with the design and carving. That's our happy helper. It was adorable. She loved her Elmo pumpkin so much that she had to give it kisses and runs over pointing to it saying, "a-mo." I love the holidays with this girl, everything is much more fun. We're working on getting her to say Trick or Treat by halloween. She tries. Here are pictures of our pumpkin fun. (we did these blinking lights in out pumpkins this year, so it's hard to get a good pic of them lit up-they're kinda dark)

Blog to Book

After having a conversation with some friends about a website they found to convert their blog into a book, I did some research of my own. They couldn't remember the site, so I figured I'd see what I could find. I love that idea. I looked into three of the main ones that came up in my google search. The one that seemed to get the best reviews/most referrals was a website called Lulu.com. However, it was really confusing for me to figure out how to get my blog into their program. I'm sure some of you smarter than me could figure it out. I decided I didn't want it to be that complicated/complex. I wanted it to be a simple enjoyable process. Another one called blog2book.com is actually contracted with blogger.com. (you can make them through other sites, that's just the one blogger will refer you to) Their prices seemed a little more expensive than I would have liked. I also couldn't get into their program due to my private blog. (i think?) It was odd. So I looked into blurb.com. Their program is compatible with macs and really easy to figure out. I am currently making my last year posts into a book journal. I decided that since I am horrible at writing in a journal I would start doing more on my blog and at the end of the year make it into a book. I decided a lot of my posts would become more journal like instead of just pictures. Some may think it's silly, but I love the idea. I figured I'd share my newest discovery in case any of you were interested. :)

Getting Out

Trying out some hopscotch
Representing

She is now getting her balance to go down the slide by herself

So the weather around here can't decided what it wants to do. It's warm and then rains, and repeats. I don't have much rain gear for Gabe, so on rainy days we get stuck inside. (especially with her having a cold now) Taking away her option to play outside during the day is torturous for her. She would play outside all day if you let her. It makes for a really long day trapped inside. So when the weather is nice, we try to get out asap. These are some of our latest outings. The top ones are to the school by our house. I love the map pics, she had fun on it.

The bottom ones are of her first time feeding the ducks/geese with some friends. I had to use my phone to take pics, cause my camera lens broke on the way over. (Long story-it's fixed now) I think Gabe would have tried to cuddle the geese if I would have let her. Even with them hissing at her. Those suckers are mean. I can honestly say I was frightened of them at times. They charge you and don't get spooked very easily. We also had the girls play in the fall leaves-they loved it. Anyway despite my camera madness, it was a good time. I want to try and go again with a fixed camera, and cause Gabe didn't want to leave.

PHEW

I finally feel like a can breath a sigh of relief...... My primary program is over! :) We did it, we survived. It was a lot more stressful than I would have liked. Let's be honest this is me, of course it stressed me out. It might not have gone as smooth as I would have liked, but it went well. The kids did great, and the teachers still participated despite the fact we made them sing a teacher solo, and I guess the sunbeams could have been worse. HA. There are definitely things that I would do different next time. Now if I can just get new teachers called for next year in a ward where there is no one to call, we'll be good. Either way I am SO stoked for the holidays. I think they'll be really chill and surprisingly stress freeish. It'll be so nice to have Adam home with a break from school. I hope everyone else is enjoying their fall!

Dr. Fluke, the future Vet

We decided that Gabe would make a good Vet. See for yourself:
She checks out the teeth
She checks out the skin
She checks her ears
She only charges a hug
Then when through, gives lots of loves

PUMPKIN PATCH

This weekend we had the opportunity to help some friends chop a bunch of wood in Fallon. Well I should say Adam got the chance to help. We were observers as as they tore down a dead tree. Gabe loved playing at in their yard. It had horses, a tractor she got to drive, and plenty of room to explore in dirt. While we were out there, we decided to go to the Lattin Farms and choose out some pumpkins in the pumpkin patch. We got to pet some animals, take a hayride, and hang out with friends. It was a fun time. Here is the weekend summed up in pictures.

Random Tag

Adam and I had a late night hanging out, so Gabe and I are letting Dada sleep in this morning. Meanwhile, we are watching The street. Sesame street that is. This is what we do in the morning when Gabe gets me up before the sun. We cuddle and watch her show, it's kinda nice to hang with her. Even though I'm half asleep. So I'm just playin on the computer while my girl eats her apple jacks and watches her A-Bow (Elmo according to Gabe).
