Finding the Humor in it All

I think that the fact that I am up when I SOOO badly want to be asleep is proof that things are getting tricky. I want to think it'll just happen occasionally, but it's happening more and more. It is getting more comfortable for me to sit up, than it is to lay down. Plus my occasional nausea at night is a fun thing to throw in. I am trying to take it in stride, go with the flow. It's kinda the only thing I can do. Tomorrow I will be a walking zombie trying to juggle the kiddos. Especially since I was up all night last night with Ollie. But what can you do? I'm back to the mornings where I spent a lot of time laying down. Luckily my kids have been good about it.
So I found some pregnancy cartoons I found humorous. Trying to find the humor in it all. I think that most of these are probably only funny to pregnant women at the time, cause you truly can relate. Others might think, yep that's pregnancy,....I was laughing. So here you go.

I laughed the hardest at the water one, cause my day went this way. I tried to make Adam some raspberry rolls to take his home teaching families. I spent all day making them. I went to bake them, and I burned them. I may not be the best of bakers, but I don't burn things. If anything I undercook things. I was playing with Gabe and never checked on them. (not thinking I needed to, cause I set it for the lowest time setting) When the buzzer went off, I took them out and they were ruined. I ripped off the tops and still frosted them. We as a family still ate some of them, but I'd never give them away to anyone. I called Adam just to vent about it, and ended up crying. Ha! Baking in the kitchen all day is a lot of work for me right now, so I was frustrated.

At 36 Weeks

Really not much to report on the pregnancy front. Everything is about the same. Huge, uncomfortable, and ready to be done. Ha! Still sick sometimes in the mornings, and sometimes at night. It's getting too uncomfortable to sleep some nights. It kinda throws me off with how little time I have left, but then at the same time I feel like this baby should be here already. I finally feel ready for baby to be here. It's this big next step in our lives, and Adam and I are both ready to start this new change/adventure. Now that Gabe's birthday is over, she asks every day when the baby will be here. (We always told her after her birthday-well it's over so she thinks it should be here) I think besides those first sick months, the last month is by far the hardest. I can't do anything easily. Everything makes me ache, and even baby moving is uncomfortable. Adam asked me if I ever have time in the day when I feel normal. It's hard to find those moments when you are this far a long. Your body is just not your own. I miss certain foods, hot showers, not having to pee so much, and just being able to roll over in bed easily. Ha! I'm looking forward to just being able to keep up with my kids easier, and cuddle this little critter in my arms.

My apps are telling me that I should start getting my hospital bag ready if I don't already have it. I don't, and it's weird to think that I need it. It's now on my list of To Do's.  There are also a few other things left to buy, which I hope to get this week. We finally got the rest of our garage organized and cleaned out. Well I should say Adam did. I gave my opinions about where things should go, and that was about it. It's so nice not having it chaotic in there. There is room for two cars now. We plan on getting another car. Nothing new, just something that we can afford for a few years. We probably won't get one for a few months, cause we want to put a good down payment on it. We can put three car seats in our car, but it's a pain. We don't plan on going much of anywhere the first little bit after baby with three kids, so we aren't in too big of a rush to get one. If we need to, we'll squeeze them all in. We'll see.

Baby is kind of a stinker. It is still turning all over the place. I can always tell when it's head down, cause I struggle, then for a few days it'll turn sideways again. I also think it is faced out and punching my tummy too. We see fists and little limbs all the time. It's so weird. I hope it gets it figured out before it decides to come. I fear hearing it's breech or something random. We are kinda stressing once again over what to do with our kids. I'm not gonna say this kid will come early, cause we both thought Ollie would and he definitely didn't. Goes to show you really have no idea. I do think that it'll throw us for a loop in some way or the other. I think cause I feel like I have this birthing thing down and I don't really stress about it. When ever I think I'm comfortable like that, something proves me wrong. Mostly my stress is who will take my kids if we need to go in the middle of the night. I guess it'll all work itself out.

At the end of week 36 I am considered full term. That's so refreshing. Made it to a safe point with baby. Good job kiddo, we did it. Now feel free to come whenever. :)  Baby is around 6 pounds and 18 1/2 inches long. Well it's supposed to be. I measure big. This kid could be a lot bigger. I try not to take that too seriously, cause ANYONE I've ever heard where their doctor predicts a big baby, they are ALWAYS wrong. I've heard it a lot too. It amazes me. It's hard to not to take seriously though. If I was told my baby was getting big, I'd want it out. I think he's supposed to check me at my appointment, so we'll see how things go.
Saw this, and figured it was appropriate

Around the House

So the latest and the greatest thing at our house is our hammock. We bought this Hammock when we were on our late honeymoon in Costa Rica. We really wanted to bring home one of their colorful ones that they make there, but it was too big and we weren't sure how to get it home at the time. We opted for this hand made one, just not so colorful one that we could fold up. We love it, but have never had a place that has good trees to use it at. Well this place has a perfect tree placement for it. We have spent quite a bit of time out in it lately. The kids love it, and treat it like a swing.

Pretending to be asleep
This is Gabe's new just out of the bath game. She pretends to be a rock, and Adam pretends that he tries to dress the rock, thus the panties on the head.
The newest nightly ritual. After Daddy runs around trying to get them pretending to be the monster.

Memorial Day Weekend

I hate that all these pictures turned out so blurry and grainy. Oh well, not much you can do when your camera is broken and you have to use your phone. Nana and Papa came down for a visit for Memorial Day Weekend. It was nice having them here. It's been a bit since the kids have been able to play with them, and they sure love to. Gabe was counting down the days until they got here. We sure were spoiled. Being huge and uncomfortable, I really appreciated all that they did to help us out around the house for the weekend. THANKS!!! I was spoiled, and hardly moved all weekend. It was very refreshing having my cooking and cleaning, and kids taken over for a few days. Just what I needed. My body and my kids didn't quite know what to do with themselves after they left. :) Here are some highlights from the weekend.
Ollie playing with Papa

Judy and I went to get some pedicures. It was her first one, so it was fun to be able to take her to do it. Even if I ended up with some random design on mine, we had some cute toes. We went to lunch and browsed a store as well.

Lots of hanging out on the back porch, the weather was nice.

We were asked wednesday night if we could speak in sacrament. Meaning that left us thursday to plan talks and get stuff ready before company came. Not ideal, but what can you do? This ward has a thing about asking the whole family to speak. That meant they asked Gabe to speak as well. Meaning her first sacrament talk was given at four years old. Pretty brave of her. I don't think she knew what she agreed to. She got some good practice in. When she gave it, she was a bit shy, but warmed up as it went on. She told me later there were a lot of people looking at her. There sure were. Good job Gabe we were so proud of you! Adam and I weren't quite as prepared as we like to be for talks, but oh well.

We fed the missionaries one night. They were really cute with the kids, and my kids loved them. One had younger siblings and was naturally good with Ollie and Gabe. Gabe practiced her talk for them, so when the missionary gave us a message, he humored her and used her microphone to give it. He also was good about my son trying to eat his ice cream off his plate, and was happy to share.

Helping Nana cook
We got some game playing in

Ollie loved Papa's hat

Nana taught us how to use my new fondue machine. SOOO yum! Gabe was a fan.

On memorial day we went down to the splash park and rode the carousel

We always love Nana and Papa visits. Fun shopping, eating in the house and out, and visiting. Good times.

At 35 Weeks

Phew I finally got caught up on the blogging. This being the last of five I think. I don't love getting behind, but it's been a busy week, and it's just keeps going. It's a good thing, it keeps my mind off my uncomfortable body. Well, for the most part. It kinda throws me off knowing I really don't have the much longer. I am nesting like crazy feeling like I have so much to do with so little time. It's hard with Adam so busy as well, cause I feel alone in a lot of my prepping and planning. I am happy to report that I have most if not all of my baby stuff washed and stored and organized the best that I can in one our big hall closets. It's packed. That's what happens when you gotta prepare boy and girl stuff. We have so many girl clothes, it's kinda nuts. The crazy thing is, we bought a lot of them. And a while back I consolidated tons of them and gave some away. Amazing that we could just go out and shop for her whenever we wanted. Now I feel like I make my kids wear clothes as long as possible. Sometimes I end up just throwing clothes out that they've out grown, cause they have too many holes or stains. We do have a lot of boy clothes that people gave us as well, but not as many as girl. I kinda look forward to giving them away someday when we are done too. Ha! It takes up so much space storing stuff for kids. Plus I was and am so grateful when people give us hand-me-down stuff, cause we were so poor. I would love to do that for someone else, and say here you go, enjoy storing it all. :)

Anyway I had a doctor appointment Wednesday. Gabe had her 4 yr old check up and her doctor had to reschedule, cause she had an emergency with one of her patients. It was kinda irritating, but if it were my kid with the emergency, I would have been grateful she was there. Adam took her to it, and I took Ollie to mine with me. I worried he'd be crazy while there with me, but he did awesome. It kinda helps that he's not fond of doctors right now, so he had no desire to leave my side. He just watched the doctor measure me and listened to the heart. When we got home he went and got the stethoscope and pulled up my shirt to listen to the baby. Pretty observant little man eh? I gained a few pounds, which I'm kinda getting tired of saying, but there is nothing I can do to stop it. I'm just soooo huge. I wish I could explain how swollen I am. By the end of the day. I have these swollen ankle rolls around ankles. My hands get huge, and my fingers hurt to bend. My calves are bigger than I have ever witnessed them looking. AMAZING. We ended up seeing Ben and Stephanie this week. She is due the beginning of June, and it was so nice to talk to someone who could relate exactly to everything. One day this week Adam was dead tired, and he was explaining how he felt to me. He asked if I knew what he meant, and I told him everyday in my life right now. Ha! I am grateful that my nausea has chilled out some. It's not every day, just random ones.

Baby has hiccups ALL the time. So different from my other kids. It is sooo low too. Last night I had this needing to push feeling without the contractions. I've never felt that with my others. It just feels so low, I feel like I need to get it out of me. It was such an odd feeling. Kinda weird. I think this is the first kid that I really am considering getting induced. I really don't want to, but the stress of trying to figure out what to do with my other kids stresses us both out. That's the hardest thing when you really know nobody where you just moved. The only people we could really call is one of Adam's secretaries, but they are all kinda older women we'd feel bad about calling in the middle of the night if we had to. Plus my kids don't know them very well. Our next door neighbor offered, but she'd very odd and we aren't that close with her. Oh the joys of figuring it all out. I guess we'll see what happens at my next appointment the beginning of June.

I read that baby has not much room to move, cause it's about 18 inches or more. It weighs a little over 5 pounds as well. The kidneys are done developing. Really the only job it has left is to put on weight. There isn't much left to read about it's development. The only thing left is getting dilated and effaced to it can get here. We'll see how that all goes.

Gabe turns 4!

So I have to explain that Gabe is used to birthdays where friends come over and help celebrate and eat cake. So since we have NO friends here yet, it made it extremely tricky explaining that to her. She kept wanting to know who was coming over for her birthday. Poor girl. Some day. So I kinda went out of my way to make it as special as we could for her, especially since Adam worked a half day. Since my b-day she had some high expectations for her decorations and a full day of fun. Adam teased it was my fault, cause I go all out, but he's the one that decorated for my b-day. :) When we put her to bed the night before she kept telling us we needed to go decorate while she was asleep, so she could wake up to balloons and streamers. She also said if we didn't, she'd still be four, but sad. Cute girl. So we decorated kinda all night, but kinda our fault for procrastinating.
We got her a new bike this year for her b-day. It's the one thing she REALLY wanted. She kept saying she wanted a new big girl bike. It took us a while to find one that was half decent for her. We say that, cause we could only find character ones, which is fine if they were stuff she liked. They had Dora, or Pinkilicious (whose books I DON'T love), or other random things she really isn't that into. We considered just ordering her a princess one, cause all the stores around us had nothing else. Well Adam stopped at Toys R Us while up north getting our stuff, and got her one on the way back down. We got her a 16 inch one. Really a 14 inch one fits her perfect, but she'd out grow it way soon, so we got her one that is a tad big, but she can still ride and grow into. Nana and Papa got her the fun table and chairs. The kitchen was a spontaneous buy that wasn't planned. We went into a kid to kid and it was $15. The one we had up north was a hand me down with half the stickers ripped off, and none of the buttons work. So we decided to get the kids this one, and it ended up being another present for her cause of our timing. We got her a few little things she could open, including a helmet.

Here are some pics of her decorations that we took the night before. I have to apologize about the picture coloring. My camera had something wrong with it, and we have to take it in to get fixed. It is now unusable. NOT happy about that one, especially since we were told on the phone they think it's an electrical issue. Bleh! We found an old camera of ours to use, but can't find the chord to connect it to the computer. AH! So I'm glad we used our phones a lot that day too. So until we get my camera fixed, we get to use phones. :( Sorry Gabe. It's very frustrating for me seeing is how we are about to have a new baby we want pictures of, and since it crapped out on her birthday. I still need to get some new yearly pictures of her for her four year, but I can't do that either. So irritated by it.

We did this so she could break through it when she came out of her room in the morning. We worried she wouldn't know what to do, so we listened for her to open her door in the morning. It squeaks, so we heard her. Good thing, cause she was confused by it. Adam decided to go and film her. Let's just say she wasn't quite awake enough to run through it. Poor girl. It gave us a good laugh when we went and watched it over and over. Even when Adam asks her how old she is, she struggled.

We had a crown from last year, and I got her some nail polish and necklaces, and a badge, she could wear to make her feel extra important. The markers and paint are just things we have that I set out that we could do to have fun that day while Daddy was at work.

I think Ollie was more excited about the decorations than she was. He also ran right over to her presents, ready to open them. He did really well letting her do it all, and was plenty content to help play with her toys.

Taking it all in

We had her open her helmet. She was excited to have one, and had no idea we got her a bike to go with it. We brought the bike out later.

We also had this game from last year, and Gabe wanted to play it before Daddy when to work

This is about the time my camera crapped out
The coloring is messed, so I had to use the phone from here on out
She told me she wanted to look like a princess, and wanted curly hair for the day. So curly hair we did.

Kay, Adam's BOA got her a pony. Very nice of her. We spent the day painting, riding her bike, playing ponies, and sitting at her table while she made me food.
We had her a cake made this year. She chose Ariel. It was a perfect size for the four of us.
We asked Gabe what she wanted to do for her b-day and she told us the park. She really does love parks. If we had friends or family we would have tried out the bounce place or something. They have no Chuck E Cheese here, so she chose the park with pizza. There is this one park she loves to play "store" at, she wanted to go there. We told her when Nana and Papa come this weekend we'd go to the water splash park and the carousel.

Sorry this video goes sideways- I couldn't get my camera to work the first time, so we made her reenact it. The first time she did get all the candles out. She makes a wish that her brother will be nice to her. :) If you can't hear her wish, this is why.....Ollie was trying to help blow her candles out in the best way he knows how.

Adam and I couldn't stop laughing. Cute boy. Before I started filming he actually blew it out twice. Then I filmed and got this.
