5 Fluke Highlights of 2009

So looking back through the year we had some good times. We figured we'd do a review in pictures of '09, and reminisce. Here are some of our favorite things from the year.

#5- All of our activities around Reno that make us love it.

(Baseball Games)

(Going to Tahoe)

#4-Gabe turns one. It was crazy to realize our baby wasn't a baby anymore.

#3-Adam's triathlon

#2- Visitors/Trips (I didn't even attempt to put these in any sort of order)

I don't have a pic from Judy and Trina's quick helpful trip, and Laurel is also here right now finishing up the year with a bang!

#1-Gabe learning to Walk (we really thought it would never happen)

THANKS TO EVERYONE FOR SUCH A GREAT YEAR! WE HOPE YOUR NEW YEARS IS AWESOME!

Christmas

Christmas was a nice quiet time in our house. One we always enjoy. We had a roast this year for Christmas eve dinner, with a bunch of goodies with it. I didn't take any pictures for some reason. Gabe just ate the rolls and sparkling cider. Afterward we attempted to read about Christ's birth in Luke. We have one of those little people nativity sets as well. As we read we tried to piece it together so it'd make some sense to a toddler. After we were done, as Gabe was cuddling baby Jesus Adam asked if she could give him a kiss. She kissed him and said, "Good girl." Adam looks at me and says," Did our daughter just tell Jesus good girl?" Yep she did. That's what she tells Greta after she kisses her, so I guess she wanted to let Jesus know he was good too. We watched a Christmas movie with her, and then read a shortened version of "The Night Before Christmas" trying to explain Santa to her. She recognizes who he is, but not what he does yet. Maybe next year.

Christmas morning was a lot of fun. Gabe was in awe at all the presents when she walked in. She kept squealing in delight and asking what everything was. She was excited to open the first few gifts, and then she was kinda over it. We were surprised, since she tried sneaking into presents all month long. Once everything was unwrapped she was a little more excited to see it all. The present we got her that we thought she'd be the most excited about(her rocking horse), she's still afraid of. Ha. Gabe noticed the half eaten cookie that Santa left on the plate, and felt obligated to finish it off for him. We had a good day hanging out, playing with presents, talking to family, played outside a little, and eating our favorite munchie foods. I hope everyone's day was good.

TAKING OFF THE LAST STICKER OFF OUR CHRISTMAS COUNT DOWN (IT WAS THE HIGHLIGHT OF HER DAY-REMOVING THE STICKERS)

SHE LOVED THE PRESENT GRANDMA KRISTI SENT-SHE LOVED TO HELP SANTA GO

SO HAPPY CHRISTMAS MORNING

ADAM TALKING TO HIS BROTHER CJ OVER IN IRAQ

PLAYING WITH SOME OF HER TOYS-THE HORSE SHE IS STILL AFRAID OF. SHE DOESN'T LIKE THE SOUNDS IT MAKES. WE HAD TO BRIBE HER TO GET ON IT, AND SHE HAD FUN, BUT WE CAN'T GET HER BACK ON. (IT'S THE TOY SHE LOVED IN THE STORE TOO)

CUDDLING JESUS ON HER NEW TINKER BELL COUCH. ATLEAST SHE LOVED ONE OF HER TOYS.

GABE CONVINCED DADDY TO PLAY OUTSIDE AND PUSH HER ON HER BIKE

Here is a video of a few clips from Christmas morning. I know the first part was dark, but you can still see her reaction to everything. We tried to film her opening some of the presents you all sent her, so you could see her fun reactions. Enjoy!

THANKS TO ALL FOR EVERYTHING YOU SENT US. IT MADE OUR CHRISTMAS SO SPECIAL.

Playin in Some Fun Ways

I love it when Adam comes home and plays with Gabe. He'll take something that we've already played with, and she's bored with, and change it into some fun new game. This weekend he came home and let her know that they were going to build a fort in the front room....and so they did. Gabe loved it, especially going in and out of it.

She then found out the hard way that the fort walls aren't very sturdy to be leaning on.

It then turned into a jumping game on all the pillows and blankets which she couldn't get enough of

We also decided we would build a snowman in all the snow we have:

STEP ONE:BUILD THE BASE BALL

STEP TWO:BUILD THE MIDDLE BALL (TRY NOT TO HURT YOUR BACKS LIFTING IT ONTO THE FIRST ONE)

STEP THREE: ROLL THE HEAD AND PLACE IT ON TOP

SMOOTH OUT THE SNOW

GIVE HIM A FACE

AND HE'S DONE....OKAY HE'S KINDA ODD LOOKING, BUT FUN NONE THE LESS

ADAM FELT HE WAS MISSING SOMETHING.....
