Thanksgiving

We had a nice quiet Thanksgiving at home. Our planned company got canceled due to blizzard weather in Utah. So it was just our little family. Adam woke up and went and played football with the ward. Meanwhile, Gabe and I got some ideas offline for some fun festive hats. My glue I found out was dried up, so I improvised with staples and tape. Their patterns were cuter than my outcome, but we didn't mind. I thought Gabe would be over hers in twenty minutes. She wore it most of the day. She walked around Gobbling at everyone. Ollie didn't love his, but was okay to have it on for a few minutes. Those are supposed to be wings on the sides of the turkeys. ;0) Adam represented the pilgrims, and I the Indians.

We then cooked and munched and had an awesome feast.

You would think wearing the apron meant she helped cook...nope she just helped sample. We went around the table and told what we were thankful for. We were trying to explain the concept to Gabe. I said family, and Adam said the mountains. We asked if she was thankful for.. family members, toys, etc. She told us no to everything we could think of. We asked what it was she is thankful for...She said Temples. I hope it always stays that way.

Afterwards, we were all SOOO stuffed......

The true results of too much turkey.....

Hope everyone had a nice holiday! Good luck to those of you brave enough to go shopping this weekend! We can't decide if we dare to venture out.

Fires

Last year Adam helped a friend of ours go out to his mom's house and chop up a tree for firewood. For helping out, she gave us some fire wood. Well this year they chopped up her other tree. The result..........

Warm fires in the chilly weather. S'mores anyone?

Ollie's two month appointment

Today we had Ollie's two month appointment. Nurse Laura, told me she was looking forward to his two month to see how much we had grown. He weighs 13 pounds 10 ounces. Yep, at two months he's getting close to 14 pounds. He is 23 1/2 inches tall. That makes him in the 90th percentile for weight, and the 75th percentile for height. I think they said his head size was 16 inches, making him in the 75th percentile as well. She kept saying, yep he's a moose, but a cute one. His doctor said he's healthy and his growth is great. He said he just might be meant to be a linebacker in life. He also said I must have some super breastmilk, and to keep doing what we've been doing. He also was happy to hear he only wakes up once in the night. He smiled and cooed at the doctor the whole time that he got his exam. Dr. Clark thought it was great. His happiness ended as soon as he got his shots, and has been struggling all day. It didn't help that we couldn't find the medicine we needed for him at any store. Tylenol is recalled, Motrin is all back ordered I guess, even though we didn't need it, and he can't have IB profen until he's six months old. It leaves only acetaminophen, which is the generic brand of Tylenol. Except it's the only infant medicine in town, so it's hard to find it in stock in any stores. Ridiculous huh? We felt horrible we couldn't give him anything until we found some medicine from a store that finally had it. I knew we had IB Profen, so i figured that would be fine knowing tylenol was recalled. I'm glad I asked. Plus I'm not one of those moms that gives the meds before the shots, cause I'm always unsure about the dosage. So I did bring IB Profen with, he just couldn't have it. He's all drugged up on meds we finally found now and sleeping. I'm hoping the next few days go better for him. I need to find Gabe's stats for two months, cause I never posted them. I'm interested to see the differences.

P.S. I bought us a turkey today and I was carrying it to the fridge thinking, man for a small turkey, this sure is heavy. Yeah it's a 13 pound turkey. Ha. I thought that's funny I think the same thing about Ollie. :O)

Well At Least One Of Us Likes It......

She kept telling us she needed to close her eyes to do it, not sure why it wasn't sunny. Maybe it was flinging it in her eyes when she moved her arms?

There is a mini snowman in these pictures if you didn't notice. I asked Gabe what we should name him, and she told me SNOWMAN. She's two, she thought it was a great name. So this is Snowman, the Snowman.

Gabe loves the snow. LOVES LOVES LOVES IT! She runs to the window each morning to check for new snow. The funny thing is, that we haven't gotten that much. As much as Adam and I don't love the snow, I do hope we get a good enough storm one of these days so she can see what real snow is like. Not just these little flurries that end up with half and inch. She doesn't mind however, we've already played in what we could multiple times. We even built us a little snowman. She even was up for doing snow angles.

Adam's B-day Weekend

For Adam's birthday we wanted to go to dinner and a movie. However, we knew trying to do that all in one night wouldn't happen with Ollie. Our babysitter is great, but doesn't have much experience with babies. So we decided we'd split it into two nights, and go when we knew he'd be asleep. Plus we were close enough that if he woke up she could call us and we'd go from there. So friday we went to Harry Potter. We saw it in the new XD theatre they have in our local theatre. It supposedly just has better picture and sound. Honestly I couldn't tell you the difference, cause we don't go to movies enough. The only thing I noticed, was that the screen was huge. We got there twenty minutes before it started, and did manage to find seats together. I do think that our showing was the only one sold out though. We both enjoyed the movie very much. GO SEE IT!

Then Saturday we all hung out as a family and went to our ward's Thanksgiving party that night. Sunday, Adam had SOOOO many meetings due to stake ones scheduled on top of the regular ones he has. Gabe and I made him his cake while he was busy at his meetings. We made the Gandolfo recipe. It was super yummy. Thanks for your help La! So that night we decided to do cake and presents, cause on Monday for his real birthday we were gonna go out to dinner and we wanted Gabe to be apart of the celebration. Gabe did an awesome job singing Happy Birthday to him. She actually is still singing it throughout the week. She had a hard time not opening all his gifts. We were trying to teach her it's his day and she can watch and hand them to him. We let her help on the last one. (We think it's sad when little kids open other little kid's gifts at birthdays-so thus the lesson) Adam got some bike stuff that he has been wanting, so he was pretty stoked.

Monday we went to eat at Bj's brewhouse. Adam loves that place, and they just built one in Sparks by our house. It's actually right by the target, right around the corner from us. We tried some yummy new things that we hadn't tried before. They gave him him free pizookie for his birthday. (Ice cream on a warm cookie) Pretty yummy. It was an all event weekend, and we had a nice time. Here are some pics I took.

She got caught eating when she was supposed to be helping "watch" it while I checked on Ollie. And yes, she's wearing her minnie mouse costume. We have made it an official dress-up dress. It's now a toy she plays with at least once a day.

It might not be the prettiest cake, but it was "tasty" according to Gabe. Did any of you teach her the word tasty when you were here? We aren't sure where she got that from, but it's hilarious when she says it.

HAPPY 28th B-DAY AD!!!

Here's a birthday shout out to our wonderful husband and Daddy on his special day. We love you for the wonderful loving person you are & for all that u do for us! Adam was a little freaked out that he was already turning 28 this year. He realized it's closer to thirty and it made him nervous. I just laughed, cause it'll be a long time before he'll look in his thirties. Plus he's very young at heart, so I doubt he'll ever seem that old either. ;) I dont think you have anything to worry about babe. Happy birthday love!

P.S. I'll post some pics and info all about his birthday weekend later.

Ollie at 2 Months

I can't believe it's the 20th again. Meaning Ollie is already two months. I can't wait to see who this little guy becomes. He seems so easy going. I am looking forward to seeing how much is personality, and where gender differences fit in. I could watch him sleep forever, he is the sweetest little thing. I have to say, even though it seems ridiculous, I am grateful for the once a night wake up feeding he still has. I know it sounds silly, but I never get as much cuddle time with him as I'd like. Life is just so much more hectic, so I don't get as many quiet moments as I'd like. There is nothing better than holding my little boy while he cuddles against me. I love how smiley he is getting. He has the funniest little happy squeals. He smiles and kicks like mad as soon as someone is willing to chat with him. He wont eat unless I talk to him for a minute. (even in the middle of the night) He'll just sit and smile up at me waiting for me to acknowledge him. Gabe loves coming in with me to get him when he wakes up, cause he smiles and squeals at us. When you talk to him he makes the funnest noises in response, like he's trying to tell you important things back.

He's still getting bigger and bigger. I keep wondering when he's gonna decide to slow down. He is still in between sizes, so I never know what to dress him in. It seems like I am always sorting through his clothes to weed out the ones that have already gotten to small for him. His appointment is on Tuesday, so we'll see the official stats. A few weeks ago I joked with Adam about our twelve pound son. He didn't believe me that's how much he would weigh. I went and weighed him on our scale and he wasn't twelve, he was thirteen. Ha! Now our scale is probably off a little, but it was about three weeks ago too. He's already more than half Gabe's weight. It seems fitting for a boy, I'm interested to see how he turns out.

He's getting more on a daily schedule as far as napping goes, so that's nice for me to be able to get things done and plan things. He is taking longer naps than just a half an hour too. That makes us all happier. It's making having two a little easier. I've given up on the pacifier. We are trying to get Gabe off hers in December (with Santa's help), and it just makes me grateful he doesn't take one. He puts his fist in his mouth when he gets tired. I think he'd stick the whole thing in his mouth if he could. I'm a little worried when he straightens out his hands more, that he'll be a thumb sucker. I don't want that either. We'll see how things go with that. He has such a strong grip, and his head is so strong now. We've tried out the bumbo a few times with him, but he doesn't quite love it yet. He won't bend into a sitting position enough, he wants to straighten out when we try to sit him in it.

He still loves to be turned toward you when he is sleepy, but he now loves to be turned out to look at everything. He just watches us all in fascination as we'll move around him all day. He really is an ideal second child for us. I think Heavenly Father knew how perfect he would be for us all at this time. We are so grateful for him. Happy 2 months buddy!

I love having a boy. They are just as fun to dress up as girls, just in different ways. Poor guy doesn't have a choice.

Love the sleeping pics

Just hanging out

He's starting to get some fun rolls

Trying to eat his whole fist

His cute smile

We love our little man. He makes our family so happy

San Francisco #3

OKAY..... I ended up not being able to decide which pictures I wanted from our trip to San Francisco in my blog book, so I did three different posts. Sorry they are out of order for you guys to view. So if you care to read about it in order, scroll down a few posts. There is also a new geocache post I did somewhere down there too.....

We worked our way down the pier viewing the cool boats and scenes until we got to Pier 39. We had planned to go to an aquarium to show Gabe a bunch of fish. It was our final destination of the day. It's called the Aquarium of the Bay. It of course, had a bunch of tanks filled with the kind of fish that are found around San Fran. We saw some cool stuff. They then have you take an elevator downstairs to an underwater walkway to view other fish. They had jellyfish, sharks, rays, and star fish, etc...You then go back up stairs where you can pet some little sharks, and rays. Gabe couldn't reach any of the rays, but she did like splashing in the water. One came up to me, but I was on the other side trying to get her picture...bummer huh? She did get to touch a star fish. They have a few other random animals from the area that you can see. Gabe got to pet this random lizard they had. By the end Gabe was kinda over it. I think cause they all start looking the same to a two year old, but she did love it.

After the aquarium we went down pier 39, mainly to let Gabe ride the carousel. It had a lot more shops that looked fun, but it was getting late and we wanted to start heading back to the car. We had to take some pics by the bridge during sunset. It was beautiful. On the walk back to the car they detoured us, cause something went down and cops were blocking part of the street. We never found out what, but we were annoyed we had an extra block to walk uphill to the car. It turned out okay, cause we ordered some new york style pizza for dinner that they sell by the slice. We took it with us and enjoyed it on the drive home. The kiddos both slept on the way home and did great. We had such an awesome time, and loved that we got the opportunity to go. There were a few things we wanted to see and do that we didn't get to. We had kinda a priority rated to do list and worked our way down. Looks like we'll just have to go again! :)
