Yes Gabe is wearing snow pants with swim goggles. It seems kinda fitting right now for our undecided weather. We were cleaning out the garage and these are what she insisted on wearing. She cracks us up. She is always saying and doing the cutest/funniest things. I figured that I'd record some of the things that she is up to now a days.
*She is so dramatic. It's either tiring, or hilarious. She's gonna hate when she's older that I told these two potty stories, but they were funny. (Plus I am grateful when anything is funny in our potty training adventure) The other day she ran to go to the bathroom and half shut the door, which she never does. Well we have a very curious dog that hates being locked out of areas in the house. She noticed Gabe had partly shut the door and went and pushed it open with her nose to see what she was doing. I hear gabe go, " AH! GRETA! I'm Going potty! Get out! Get out!" I don't know where she got it from, but it was funny.
-The other morning she got me up at five to go to the bathroom. Which is pretty normal. We go to the bathroom and she sits there forever with nothing happening. It's quiet and we are both tired and I'm drifting. She randomly toots, which is always amplified on the potty. She screams, "AH!...It scared me! Silly toot." I couldn't stop laughing.
She also likes to blame Greta or Ollie for her tooting, it's pretty funny.
* She wants to be so independent right now and do everything for herself. Dressing herself, getting in the car, wipe herself after going potty (even though she is way to small to accomplish it well), cleaning things, and trying anything new. Sometimes she does great, and other times it frustrates her. She wanted me to show her how to tie shoes the other day. She definitely isn't old enough for that one yet, but it just shows how much she wants to try everything and learn everything. She walks around the house counting everything.
*She always thanks me for the cutest things. She'll notice clean laundry that I'm folding, and she gets excited when her clothes are in it. She'll grab something, and ask me if it's clean. When I tell her it is she says, " Oh thank you mommy. It smells good." She'll thank me for cleaning her sippy cups, and helping her clean her room, or for cooking her a yummy dinner. It's nice to feel appreciated. :)
* She refers to herself a lot right now as Gabrielle, not Gabe. It's cute to hear her say it. She has that and her last name down. I'll try and post a video of it some time. It's cute. She loves to sing. She walks around the house singing all the time. She doesn't sing many songs that have words, she just makes up her own lyrics and noises. The other day she was trying to make Ollie happy by singing him a nice song. She was singing all soft and nice when she threw in a power note that was very high pitched and screechy. Poor Ollie jumped so bad as she held this note. She meant well. I think she got her "beautiful" singing voice from her mother. Ha.
*When she's been naughty we ask if she needs to sit out, and we either sit her out or resolve our issues. Afterwards she usually will go tell one of her toys that I made her sit out. I asked her what she wanted for lunch one day and she told me PB&J, so I made her one. She took one bite and told me she was done. After a battle I told her fine, but when she gets hungry later that's what she gets to eat. She went and played with two barbies reenacting the whole scene. The barbie playing me wasn't very nice, and the one playing her was sweet and innocent. She asked Adam for something and he tells her no, so she'll ask me, and visa versa. She's learning how to try and work the system. She battled with Adam over something, and she came to me with the saddest face. She told me she was sad. When I asked her why she said, "Daddy told me no." Ha.
*Her new favorite thing is to ask you what time it is. She doesn't really grasp what it means. She got it from Adam and I. In the evenings we ask each other what time it is as we are trying to get kids in bed, or whatever. She asks me twenty times a day what time it is. When you tell her she either tells you oh, or no it's this.... and tells you the "time". The most common answer she gives is, "No mommy it's forty forty." Sometimes I'll tell her it's lunch time, or bath time and she's okay with those answers. It's cute. Man between being interested in telling time and tying shoes, it freaks me out she is growing up way too fast.
*She always asks you to "talk to her" . She loves for you to take time to just have a conversation with her. It makes her feel so big to sit at the kitchen table during dinner and have a conversation with you. She loves you to talk to her and ask her about her day. Every night when she goes to bed we do our routine, then we put her in bed. She wants "big" kisses (wants you to blow on her cheek) and then asks, "Mommy, talk to me?" I love that she does this. I hope as she gets older she always wants to take the time to talk to her parents.
*She is the biggest klutz. If there is something to trip on, she will. I can't tell you how many times in a day she falls down, runs into things, or just doesn't watch where she is walking and bumps something. Our closet doors in our bedroom are these ugly big mirrors. She loves to look at herself in them when walking out of our room. She always slams her face on the end of the door, cause she is watching herself. I thought as she got older and better and walking, and running she would get more coordinated, nope she's not at all.
*Gabe is fascinated by temples. So I've explained that's where we get married. One day she told me she is going to get married in the temple. So I told her she needs a worthy boy to take her there. Later when I asked her what she needed to get married in the temple, she told me a pretty dress. Ha. Now when you ask her she says in this funny annoyed voice, "I need a boy to go." Adam tells her she has to at least be 25 to go. She always says, "Okay Daddy I'll go when I'm five."
I could go on and on. She's so fun right now, I had to record some of the things she is up to. Especially since I haven't for a while.

Hilarious. I love that girla. have you thought about having her eyes examined to see if any of her klutziness is due to poor eyesight? maybe I will get her a clock for Christmas so she can learn how to tell time.
I really enjoyed that post. It made me giggle and giggle. I'm late packing now. Geez Gabe. :) I'm so excited to see her tomorrow!! Yay!! Uncle Steve would be THRILLED to give her "big" kisses on her belly. He calls them zooberts. The loud toot that scared her made me laugh so stinking hard. Oh man.
She is quite the charactor! I love that you are recording it all down. You are so with it! Way to go!
Her tooting story cracked me up! So funny! I love that she is such a sweetheart. That is so awesome that she says thank you for the simple things. I wish my kids were thankful to me for washing their clothes. And I love that she just wants to talk. Hopefully that never changes! She is just so cute! Such a fun age!
