What a funny week I've had...

-So prepare yourself for a bunch of rambling, cause I'm about to begin. You can stop now if you'd like. So to begin my daughter has had some really random wake up moments screaming at 3a.m. this last week. Not the most fun when you are used to her sleeping through the night. Now it's happening two times a night. Aren't we supposed to be moving forward, not backwards? I think she's growing, cause she acts like she is starving. I'm a good mom I feed her don't worry... and she goes back to bed just fine. Doesn't mean it makes my mornings anymore fun getting up when I've been up all night feeding her. Another reason I'm sure she is ready for rice cereal.
-So then our really good friends decide to move on us to Las Vegas. They had a good career opportunity, but not so fun non the less. Greta is gonna be so confused when her friend Nala doesn't come over to play anymore. (there is a picture of them to the right) Gabe loved to lay down on the ground and play with her friend Ethan.

So we were sad on sunday when they weren't there. Just so you know guys, we miss you already. We are happy for them though. We love you guys!
-We decided to go to dinner with friends to this fancy stake house. Gabe did well so that wasn't a problem. I realized I am kinda more of a hick then I thought. They went to serve us our salads and brought out chilled forks on a platter to eat the salads with. I could only see him arranging things on a plate. Thinking it was my salad he was arranging and sticking his fingers in, I was really confused. When he held it down and it had a bunch of forks. He's like, "you need to take one." I'm thinking "mmm okay buddy." Why do they need to be cold? The whole night was that way. He kept asking us questions I didn't understand, and I'm pretty sure he thought I was an idiot. The meal was great, and the company even better. I think I have good table manners, but I guess I need to brush up on my etiquette.
- Saturday I had to work, drag.
-Sunday Gabe was crazy ornery, and fought sleep. It made church fun.
-Today Gabe had her four month Appointment. Time for more immunizations. She actually did okay. She is in the 50 percentile for everything so we are doing A-OK. Her height slowed down thank goodness. Maybe clothes will start fitting her. The nurse gave her shots, she screamed bloody murder, adam picked her up she smiled at me and we were good to go. Much easier than last time. When we got home she did okay, but nap times were tricky, and full of crying and crying and crying. Poor girl . I think we are going to survive. Now if I can figure out rice cereal, we'll be good.
-So when giving Gabe a bath the other day a crazy big spider was crawling toward us. Not about to have it bite my child, I grabbed her shampoo and smashed it in a corner. When I layed Gabe down to nap and came to clean up my mess, it was gone. I thought oh man it's gonna come after me now. It did for sure do just that today. I went to wash my hands and it was in my hand towel. AHHH! then it fell to the floor on my rugs somewhere.  I quickly threw my rugs out of the bathroom into the hall so I could get it away from Gabe, who was in there with me again. It really was big. Well come to find out Greta, our usually obedient dog, decided to chew my bathroom rug while I gave Gabe a bath. I would like to think that she saw the spider and not wanting it to endanger Gabe or myself, she chewed up the rug to get it. .....No not really, I think she realized she liked the fuzziness of the rug. Dang dog. I don't think rugs with holes in them are very attractive.
-So here we are it's late and I'm blogging? That's what happens when you fall asleep with your daughter trying to comfort her from her shots. I ended up taking a long nap. So now I'm wired and can't sleep. I was just reflecting on my week and thought I'd share. Tomorrow is another day, wish me luck.....

Gabe grabs faces

As you have read, Gabrielle is grabbing everything around her. Her favorite is faces. Adam got his face squeezed, squished, and scratched the other morning, but she loved it. I had to put some pictures up, she got some good holds.

Picture Tag

I got tagged to post pictures of things around the house. So here they are, I hope I got everything I was supposed to. The list included: Kitchen sink, bathroom, a closet with the door open, a bedroom, and a favorite feature about your house. You can't cheat, you have to take pics without cleaning up first.
We had pizza with friends last night, so it was pretty clean
Guest bath is always cleaner(plus I had to show off the cute curtains)
Gabe's closet door is always open, so it seemed like a good choice
This is her room, it's the most fun
The features I love are all below:
We haven't tried the fireplace out yet, but we can't wait

Having a yard, even though small has been so fun for all of us this summer
We bought a new bed a bit ago, and it's the most comfy thing ever.
Thanks Judy, that was a fun tag.
People I tag: Christine, Christy, Nicole, Janae, Lillian, and Brittany.

FOUR MONTHS!

So once again here I am updating my blog on my daughter growing another month older. Once again it blows me away how fast time flies. Being a mom is by far my greatest accomplishment in my life. It's funny how the little things in the day make life so wonderful. It seems like every night I make a "to do" list for the next day. It usually consists of simple things I want to try to get around to if I can. For example: Sweep the kitchen floor, do Gabe's laundry, go on a walk, make dinner, etc. You get the point. One by one I cross things off this list feeling good with myself that I got something done in my day. Most women around here would find it silly this is what I'm doing with my day. They don't seem to get it. They don't get it's not about being at home doing chores. Those are the things I squeeze in around my child. She comes first before anything else. When she's awake I'm taking every moment I can to hang out with her. We read, play peek a boo, give her a bath to splash around, we take Greta outside to play on the grass, etc. She is the reason that staying home doing laundry and cleaning makes my life wonderful. I really am loving this time off work being able to not feel like I'm putting her second to get a lesson plan done for the class I have that night. It's gonna be hard to go back, but you do what you got to do. I just wanted to gush about how much I love being with her at home and not working. We'll get there eventually. Here are some fun things that Gabe has been up to this month I've spent with her:

-She grabs everything in sight. If she can't reach it, she will wiggle and move her body so she can. You can't have anything by her in a couple feet radius on all sides or she's got it. This includes your face.
-She LOVES her feet. You'll notice in a lot of these pics she has her legs lifted and grabs her feet. Even in my previous post you can tell which child is mine, the one in her car seat trying to grab her feet. Even the pic of me holding her she is still trying to do it. She does it laying down, while you hold her, and sitting in her bumbo, boppy, and car seat. Silly bug.
-She is giggling more and more :)
-She has a constant smile on her face
-I have suspicions she is teething, I'll keep you updated on that one.
- Still growing like crazy, still not fitting in anything right
-She enjoys arching her back when she's mad, happy or hungry. I'm not loving this one.
-Drools, drools, drools- we brought out the bibs the other day to try to keep her more dry.
- We are going to start her on rice cereal in a week or so, which I feel she is ready for. So once we have our four month appointment next week I'll give an update.
-She hates to lay down. She loves trying to sit up. The girl does more crunches in a day than anyone I know.
- Keeping mommy and Daddy busy, and loving every minute we get with her.
HAPPY FOUR MONTH BUG A BOO!

This is her new way to sit in her bumbo so she can reach what she wants.

BABIES! BABIES! BABIES!

So for those of you who aren't aware there were quite a few women pregnant at the same time in our ward. Conversation went a lot like this...."Guess what I'm pregnant." ....."Hey me too"....."Hey so is she"........A lot of fun all around. Many times the conversation was how crappy we all felt, or how our recent appointment went. We had some combined baby showers and everything. We thought we'd end up with all girls, cause there were three in the beginning, but the boys came in June. Well today we decided to get all the babies together and take a picture. The Tanners are moving on us :( , and it was their last sunday. So we figured, and thanks Amy for the cute idea, to take a picture with all the babies. There are five total ranging in about two months from one another. The first was born April 22nd and the last was born June 24th. We got lucky, none of them were crying and they were all awake and content. All of our biggest fear was that our child would be the one screaming. Here are some of the fun pictures that we got......I promise that Gabe's dress is a lot more girly than it looks. It happens to be one of the only ones that fits her right now and it's green. For those who know me well, know I love that it's not pink. I did get asked that day if she was a boy or a girl. HA. So I think my child will be the one people wonder if she is a girl or a boy looking back at that picture in the years to come. Oh well, she is adorable either way.

This picture is by far my favorite. I think it shows a lot of their personalities already. Kennedy on the far left was talking away. Jaidyn was chewing her hand. Gabrielle was trying to grab her feet. Cooper was content to hang out. Ethan was trying to sit up to see everything. We sat them in the order they were born starting from the left to right. Gabe was born in the middle of all the fun.

We had to have one with all of the mothers together.

GRANDPARENTS DAY!!!

For those of you who aren't aware, today is officially Grandparents day. (thanks Michele) Not as celebrated  as other holidays, but it's good to recognize your Grandparents. So Gabe just wanted to take a few minutes to tell her grandparents how much she adores them:

*Poppa and Nana Fluke: Thank you for all the love that you show me. Thanks for being supportive and raising my awesome Daddy who loves me to death, and treats me perfect. Thanks for the video chats so I can see your faces, and know who you are. Thanks for the fun toys and outfits you spend so much time and love making me. I get excited when I hear Nana's voice on the player reading me a book. I love my doll and like to eat it too. Thanks for making our home better looking in more ways than one. Thanks for being apart of my blessing, and being worthy to do so. Thanks for visiting me, and for all the fun visits to come. I love you.

*Grandpa and Grandma Weiss: Thanks for all your love and support. I loved seeing your faces in the hospital. I know that you love me, to make such a long trip out just for me. Thanks for the phone calls to check up on us.  I'm working on Grandpa as my first word as promised. ;) (it might come in second to DaDa) Thanks for being a part of my blessing and being worthy to do so. Thanks for visiting me, and for all the fun visits to come. I love you.
* Grandma Kristi and Grandpa Alan: Thanks for all your love and support. Thank you for making a trip out here to see me. Thanks for helping me with my tummy aches, and teaching my mom that is the reason I'm screaming. Thanks for the fun recipes that mom can make me some day. Thanks for being excited over all my new pictures. Thanks for visiting me, and for all the fun visits to come. I love you.

Reno Air Balloon Races!!!

Once again let me emphasize that Reno has such fun events going on during the summer/fall time. Events that become family traditions. As you read we went to the rib cook off. (that will continue each year) This weekend we participated in Reno's hot air balloon race. Let me explain first, that I AM NOT a morning person. So in past years, this has stopped us from going. This year a bunch of people from our ward decided to go together, so I had to get up this year. They launch at 6:45 in the morning. Adam and I were up at 5:30 AM to get everything ready. You can go earlier and watch the glow in the dark ones, but if the sun isn't up I won't be either. Ha. Anyway we met there among hundreds of people. The balloons all start off on the ground. They blow them up and launch them all off in front of you, and right by you. About a hundred of balloons of all sorts of colors. Some were shaped out like an eagle, a nemo fish, and the energizer bunny. They launched the eagle off first with a flag hanging from is with the national anthem playing. It's really very cool. When they say race, it's actually rather slow. They continue to go all day touching down in certain places, and having competitions with them. We just watched them launch. It really was very cool. So cool that I might get myself out of bed next year to go. Especially since next year my daughter will love it! Here are some pictures of our fun event. Those of you who would like to participate next year with us, are welcome to come visit. Always the first part of September. Thanks to the people from my ward who got me out of bed with their invite to see them! :) It was a lot of fun.

Duck

Gabe has discovered this one toy that makes her so happy.....
it happens to be a duck. It's bright, it's light......
.....thinkin about it........

.....and it's easy to chew. Duck never stands a chance.

Football season....

Ahh football season. It has begun. I looked and Greta and Gabe the other day and said, "Football season has begun, you know what this means girls? We loose our daddy to the game."  Adam is so stoked. He loves football season. As you can see by our pictures our daughter is destined to be a tom boy, and into football with her daddy. He is so excited to teach her all about it, so he'll finally have someone to watch it with. I'm completely fine with it, as long as I don't have to watch. :) So every Monday night, Adam gets Gabe in her Touchdown sleeper (Meant for a boy but looks so cute with her blue eyes) And gets her football rattle, and they watch football. She actually is very entertained watching it on the screen. I've never seen her tune into the TV, but she does with football. Must be meant to be. Here begins their Daddy-Daughter monday night tradition.
