Christmas

Christmas was a nice quiet time in our house. One we always enjoy. We had a roast this year for Christmas eve dinner, with a bunch of goodies with it. I didn't take any pictures for some reason. Gabe just ate the rolls and sparkling cider. Afterward we attempted to read about Christ's birth in Luke. We have one of those little people nativity sets as well. As we read we tried to piece it together so it'd make some sense to a toddler. After we were done, as Gabe was cuddling baby Jesus Adam asked if she could give him a kiss. She kissed him and said, "Good girl." Adam looks at me and says," Did our daughter just tell Jesus good girl?" Yep she did. That's what she tells Greta after she kisses her, so I guess she wanted to let Jesus know he was good too. We watched a Christmas movie with her, and then read a shortened version of "The Night Before Christmas" trying to explain Santa to her. She recognizes who he is, but not what he does yet. Maybe next year.

Christmas morning was a lot of fun. Gabe was in awe at all the presents when she walked in. She kept squealing in delight and asking what everything was. She was excited to open the first few gifts, and then she was kinda over it. We were surprised, since she tried sneaking into presents all month long. Once everything was unwrapped she was a little more excited to see it all. The present we got her that we thought she'd be the most excited about(her rocking horse), she's still afraid of. Ha. Gabe noticed the half eaten cookie that Santa left on the plate, and felt obligated to finish it off for him. We had a good day hanging out, playing with presents, talking to family, played outside a little, and eating our favorite munchie foods. I hope everyone's day was good.

TAKING OFF THE LAST STICKER OFF OUR CHRISTMAS COUNT DOWN (IT WAS THE HIGHLIGHT OF HER DAY-REMOVING THE STICKERS)

ADAM TALKING TO HIS BROTHER CJ OVER IN IRAQ

PLAYING WITH SOME OF HER TOYS-THE HORSE SHE IS STILL AFRAID OF. SHE DOESN'T LIKE THE SOUNDS IT MAKES. WE HAD TO BRIBE HER TO GET ON IT, AND SHE HAD FUN, BUT WE CAN'T GET HER BACK ON. (IT'S THE TOY SHE LOVED IN THE STORE TOO)

CUDDLING JESUS ON HER NEW TINKER BELL COUCH. ATLEAST SHE LOVED ONE OF HER TOYS.

GABE CONVINCED DADDY TO PLAY OUTSIDE AND PUSH HER ON HER BIKE

Here is a video of a few clips from Christmas morning. I know the first part was dark, but you can still see her reaction to everything. We tried to film her opening some of the presents you all sent her, so you could see her fun reactions. Enjoy!

THANKS TO ALL FOR EVERYTHING YOU SENT US. IT MADE OUR CHRISTMAS SO SPECIAL.

I have to agree that Gabe's ohhhhs were stinkin cute! It's so fun when they are finally old enough to understand how fun opening a present can be. I love that she cuddles with baby Jesus! That's awesome Adam got to talk with his brother. And peace and relaxation for Christmas...is there a better present than that?
