We started this tradition last year to go up camping by Panguitch Lake by Cedar Breaks for July 4th weekend. We love camping and wish we could squeeze it on more than we do. It's a lot of work and packing for a few days, but it always ends up worth it. We usually go up, and then come back home in time for fireworks here. This year we went another day and fit in some other fun stuff. Our Reno friends the Tanners always camp here with their extended family, so we get to see them every year too.
Gabe fascinated this bug looked so much like a leaf.
When we got there it was pouring rain. Not ideal. When it calmed we set up a canopy in the rain, zipped it all up and put our heater inside to hang out for a while before we set everything else up. Luckily it was the only day it rained. The year before it rained as we left so we've been pretty lucky so far.
Simple yummy meals kept everyone happy.

Smores!
Hanging out kidless by the camp fire. Super nice. The first rainy night was chilly, but the other nights were perfect. Which is funny cause the year before we all froze.
Gabe loves Mummy bags and even crawled in upside down. I don't know how she does it, I hate them.
Ollie slept better here than at home. He was all about sleeping in when everyone else was up.
Milo helped Daddy at almost every meal he could.
The following day we went hiking, which was cool cause we hit the beginning of their wild flower festival when they are all just starting to bloom. It was so beautiful.
We saw so many types of flowers and butterflies. Milo was trying to give them kisses.
We told them not to pick any. Ollie couldn't help it, he had to pick just one to give his mom.
The kids asked to bring their "phones" to take pretty pictures so we let them. We got some funny stuff from them all.
