New Children's Museum

St George recently opened up a new Children's Museum. We got a flyer about it a few months back from Gabe's school. We talked about going but kinda forgot about it. Someone at church mentioned it was fun and it made us remember we needed to go check it out. After it was too windy for the hike/picnic we had planned today we decided to go run errands in St G and let the kids try it out. We knew nothing about it except it was kid oriented and free of charge. Well they accept any donations and I think alot of people give a few bucks. We had no cash so we didn't. :/ Sorry we will next time. 

Anyways, we were very pleasantly surprised. It was SO stinkin cute. Maybe I loved it because my kids play dress up/make believe 90% of the day. (It's the one really good thing they play well together right now-every other game is too "girl game" or too "boy game" for them) With that said, they were in heaven. You walk into a hallway that looks like a road. On both sides are very realistic pretend looking buildings. The idea is to show kids what jobs they can grow up to have in the community. They had so many fun things. They had an airport with a security check point and a plane you could pretend to fly. A mechanics shop with pretend stuff you could actually do on the cars. A grocery store, a bank, a farm, a post office, an office to be the president/mayor/anything political. It was kinda nuts! 

Downstairs was more educational. It had a space/weather room. A sports room to play sports. A bunch of climbing toys everywhere with shape matching etc., and this huge castle area that a construction company made. It had a dragon and everything. There was a music room, an art room. So cool. Obviously companies are clearly displayed everywhere, but I gaurantee they donated a lot to be apart of it. So they deserve it I think. 

I gotta find out where they got these play ice cream cones. They had magnets in the scooper and the cone so the actual ice cream would stick to both. It was cute. My kids would play so much with those. They were mad we made them leave the diner area. 

Learning to milk a cow. They had real water come out of it. I even tried it. 

You can't tell but this was a farmer truck. 

The post office. Most of the little stations had dress up clothes you could put on if you wanted too. 

This was the airplane they flew. It had a pretend screen that changed scenery to help you pretend. 

This was one of my favorites. It made drill sounds for the tools. You could get under the car or pretend to change the tire by using the tools. 

This was the mini tornado machine. It was awesome. 

This you were supposed to lift a bubble around you but we couldn't get it to work.

This was my other fav. This grocery store my kids spent the most time in. They have a volunteer in there full time constantly putting food in the right places. I felt bad for her it was a busy job. So we made our kids put away their food when done.

Anyway we didn't take pics of it all. (Even though it seems like it) I would have if I could, cause it was so fun to see my kids so excited. Plus not sure how often we'll go to it. Gabe was sad we didn't let her perform in the room with the stage playing Frozen songs. It had a pretend light room to control all the stage lights. It had these computers you could pretend to be a newscaster. The line to sing a song was a little long for big and little kids. No thanks, maybe another time. It was a little crowded at times. Not sure we'll go on a Saturday next time, but kids were good about taking turns. It did get hectic keeping Ollie and Gabe from excitedly walking away from us while trying to chase Milo around. BUT we made it. 

It was a blast and right next to the water park. So who ever comes to visit we can make a fun day trip or it. Museum, then water fun. Who's with us? :)
