In December Part 1...

We did an advent like usual this year, but we found that it's not as easy as it used to be when we had younger kids. With kids in school, busy callings, and work priorities, we quickly learned we might have to tone down our advent next year. Which is hard, cause we are kind of used to doing it all. It was just a weird year. It was hard to feel like we had any time to breath, we didn't love it. Christmas day was the first day that we felt happy and relaxed. Ah well. Here are some pics from our fun busy month.
Decorating the tree. I wanted to buy a new tree, and the one I really wanted just wasn't ever available. So we randomly went to Lowe's one day and we all fell in love with this tree. It's pre-lit with lights that can be colored or white, which we love. Or they can blink switching from one to the other which my kids loved.
We bought a few different tree toppers for different options. My kids ended up loving the blue snowflake on top the best. (It looks good with our colored lights) So maybe next year I'll get all blue and Silver stuff to go with it.
Usually it's baby Jesus that's MIA most of December, but Milo had this thing for the angel driving all his trucks and cars.
Writing letters to Santa.
Our silly elf Jolly. He did some fun stuff. He brought us Christmas pajamas and did some stuff that our kids found amusing.
We decided from now on We will only ask for 3 presents from Santa. Jesus got 3, so we can too. Even though our kids still end up with a million things, it turned out better than last year with the load they all got. Here are their letters they wrote.
Snowflakes from coffee filters. We hung them all over our windows. I'll never go back to folding paper again. This was so much easier for younger kids. Milo contributed by trying on every snowflake as a mask.
We went to Tuacahn with my Activity Day girls.
Adam went on a scout camp out with his boys.
We made some gingerbread stuff and watched the Christmas devotional. It was nice. The boys did a train this year, and the girls did a Christmas village.
We NEVER got to just sit and relax watching Christmas shows which bummed us out. We really only got to like twice, so it was a big deal when we did.
