Frog's Hollow Race

Last weekend Adam participated in a race at Frog's Hollow on a team with five other people. It was a 25 hour race. One at a time they take a turn racing a 13 mile lap as fast as they can. When they get back from their lap, another teammate goes. You get the picture. So they all ended up racing around 3 times, and a few of them 4 times. Adam was the 3rd to go and he did his lap in 64 minutes, unfortunatly on his first lap he took a corner fast and ate it. He got some road rash from his shoulder to his back, down his leg. Another teammate later crashed on the exact same corner and got worse road rash than Adam.

This is one of the whole team hurriedly snapped at the exchange tent. Wade on the bike ready to go, Jed, Jake who just got in, Roy, Adam, and Jake. They are all part of Hurricane Rotary, so that sponsored them to ride as a corporate team. There were six corporate teams racing, and Adam's team ended up coming in 3rd place. 

There were other teams that weren't' corporate, and others that just had single riders. One lady by herself did 17 laps. Nuts!

This one is up at their camp that had a view of the trail right before the exchange tent, so they could see everyone riding in.

Hanging out with Daddy at camp. We went up after Milo's nap when Adam had already finished his first nap and had to leave before his second nap. 

Frolicking everywhere. He couldn't' stay in one place for one second. This boy will turn us gray quick I tell you. :0)

We brought Ollie's bike up so the kids could ride around as well. They loved it. 

Adam ended up riding 2 more times. They were both in the dark. One in the evening and one at like 3 in the morning. His second lap he got the same time, and his third he finished at like an hour and ten minutes. Pretty amazing. They all did so amazing, it was super fun to go see. I wish I could have stayed for one of his laps and see him ride out and cheer him on coming in. If the kids were older it would have been fun to camp there with him. Maybe another time. 

From home I was keeping tabs on him the best I could. I had a rough idea of who was going when and I also tracked him out on the trail while he was making his laps...

Post race pic. Road rash and some very tired red eyes. With the injury it was a bit tricky to sleep and shower the next few days.
