Life with Ollie

Ollie is getting to that age/stage where he is copying new phrases and saying his own new things. This means that most of what he says cracks us up. He is so fun to have around. So here's a new Life With Ollie post to see what our O-man has been up to.
*Ollie cries when Daddy leaves for work. He just wants to go with him. He is just like his Daddy, hanging around the house is not entertaining. He wants to be out and moving and having fun with his Daddy.

*He really is pretty reasonable when it comes to throwing tantrums and arguing. He is a little easier to figure out how to calm down. Funny a year ago it was a completely different story. Although when he is super tired, you can almost count on some severe tantrum coming. He doesn't function well when tired. We've had a few major fits in public places. At Gabe's swim lessons, at Target, and church. It's fun. The nice thing is that usually if you give him cuddles, he'll calm down enough to talk. He is starting to run away though when you ask to talk, so hopefully we can get over that fast.

*He still will talk in third person. It's cute. He'll say, "Mom is this Ollie's milk?" He knows the correct way to say it, it's like he almost prefers addressing himself that way.

*He calls Milo, Bilo or Pilo.

*He now uses the phrase, "That's not fair," which he learned from his sister.

*Someone asked him what his Daddy does for work. He answered with, "He drives and drinks Mountain Dew."

*I asked him to get the milk for me and he goes, "Milk, coming up."

*He tells me when he eats something good, "Mom! Yum Yums!"

*Our nightstand drawer was open and Milo grabbed it and the whole thing toppled over. It's a cheap light one so no worries, and Milo was fine.
G: Mom this fell on Milo!!
O: Milo almost died!

*I was trying to talk to him one day with his Mickey stuffed animal. He goes, "Mom Mickey can't talk, he's frozen."

*Adam got done working out and decided to do some pull ups on the bar we have. Ollie wants to do everything Daddy does. So he had us take off his shirt so he could do some pull ups like Daddy.

*He is very into hats right now.

*We were singing the "I'm So Glad When Daddy Comes Home" primary song together. Ollie likes to make up his own endings to that song. It normally goes... give him a great big kiss.
Ollie's ends with ...a great big toot!
or
...A great big rocket ship!

*M: What color are your eyes?
O:Dunno
M:They look kinda green
O:Maybe on Sunday Mom. Wait a minute, maybe on Monday.

*He'll say cute things like, "Now wait a minute," or "Now that's a good idea."

*In the morning if he's not woken up and has gotten enough sleep, he wakes up giggly and so happy. He prances out of his room and gives you a hug. He runs on his tippy toes everywhere. He is not a morning person, and needs sleep to be happy.

*He asks the best questions. Milo laughs at everything so Ollie will ask him, "What's so funny about Milo?"
One time Milo was giggling at him and he said, "It's not funny Milo, it's cool."

*He tries so hard to have genuine conversations with you. He learns alot from watching and listening to Gabe. This means he'll copy her a lot to try and be important in the conversation too. Gabe doesn't always love it, and we end up answering things twice, but it's so cute to see him try.

*He was going to the bathroom and got done. I asked if he had pooped. He goes, "Yep, that's poop alright."

*He told me one day, "Your the best mom, give me five." (a high five)

* "Ouch! I bite my teeth!"

*He loves the disney channel show Jake and the Neverland pirates. Pirates are kinda his new favorite thing. You can hear him quoting frequently, "Yo Ho let's go!"

*He loves to pretend everything is a rocket ship. He'll count up or down, blasting it off, and will fly it around the room.

*He is getting to where he thinks the words toot, bum, and poop are hilarious.

*He is my Bubs. Not sure how the nickname got started, but it what he normally gets called. I used to call him Baby, cause he was my baby. Then we had Milo and I realized Ollie isn't my baby anymore, even though I still occasionally call him that. So I think it just evolved into Bubs.
