Happy 4th!

We decided that we would take this 4th of July a little easy, obviously do to the fact that we have a new baby and young kids. We did venture out a bit. We started our day at the parade. My kids LOVED the parade. It was such a simple nothing parade, but it kept them entertained, cause they got lots of candy.
Adam got a bunch of flags from his rotary club to pass out for his company. He had the kids help, it was cute.

Ollie was so fun to watch. He waved and clapped for everything and everyone that passed by.

Ollie's nursery leader rode in the parade to advertise the ATV rodeo they do here. He saw Ollie and came back to talk to him. It was really cute.

After the parade at the park they were doing a bunch of events for kids, but we had no cash and our stroller wheel broke. Not very good timing. So we walked around a bit, but ended up just letting the kids play on the park toys. They were content with that.

We did some caching! One cache was up just for the 4th of July and when you got a special patriotic coin from the cache, you could take it to the city building and get a prize. Pretty fun except the prize was a coupon for del taco. Ha! Gabe goes, "Hey, I don't want a paper taco." We did this other multi cache that took you to some of the museums close to the park. They weren't open, but we still went and got them.

 Ollie didn't love the plow

The first house built in Hurricane

He did LOVE the tractor though

Later that day Adam let the kids play in the pool out back, and we all hung out for a bit. We then had a BBQ withs some yummy food.
Cute Milo was all smiles hanging out

After Milo went to bed, we ventured outside to let the kids throw some snaps on the ground

The city canceled their big firework show due to fires, and banned all fireworks at home. They designated certain parks for people to go to for their fireworks. I stayed with Milo while Adam took the kids over to a close park to do some sparklers.
We had some small ones that Gabe didn't love cause she was so afraid they'd burn her hands, which one did. Then Daddy whipped out the big ones we bought and she loved those cause they had a long stick. Ollie was happy with them all.

It was simple and easy going and we all had such a nice day. What a good way to spend a holiday.

Seems a lot like our holiday. But we skipped our parade- it was at 6 am. No thanks. :) Glad you go to do some sparklers and poppers.

I figured out why Ollie didn't like the plow - no steering wheel! He sure loves his Brrrooooms!
