Poor Guy, Can't Catch a Break
Last week was by far the toughest we've had as far as Milo's stomach pains go. He really was miserable. Now in defense, he is a very happy going baby right now. With all the stuff he's going through he really should be screaming and crying a lot. He doesn't, just wiggles and squirms and grunts. So last week when he did scream and cry whenever I put him down it seemed a little off. He just wanted to be cuddled and held while he grunted and squirmed. So when friday rolled around and Adam took the kids camping, I expected a nice relaxing night with my boy. That didn't happen at all. It kinda figures since Adam was gone, and stuff ALWAYS happens when he isn't there. Milo started vomiting. At first I just thought he had overeaten and threw some back up, cause he has done that. Nope it continued throughout the night. No fever though so I waited it out. It was a long night. I wondered if it was a bug or something. The next day he was spitting up quite a bit. Come Monday it was back to spitting up with some vomiting. So Tuesday morning I called the doctor. Our regular doctor was gone so we saw another one and she had us come in. The nurse guessed it was reflux, but wanted us to talk to the doctor. So Dr. Walker saw us and she confirmed it. She told us there was 3 options for it. One he just is a spitty baby. Since it wasn't always right after eating, and he was projectile vomiting, she ruled that out. Two it was reflux, and three is was a more serious thing having to do with his sphincter (opening/doorway) from his stomach to his intestines. After an examination, and talking some more, she told me it was reflux. Not too excited about that, but there you have it. She gave us some medicine that was supposed to help with the acid pain, but wouldn't stop him spitting up. So we gave it a go. She told me if he stays the same, or gets worse to call her. So after we got home from a reunion trip he struggled. Even Adam was talking about calling the doctor. All the stuff that we usually do to comfort his pain wasn't working. He was really struggling. So we called and went BACK in this week. She told me to stop giving him the medicine, cause it obviously wasn't working. She told me she just thought that it was somthing that he would have to grow out of. Because his projectile vomiting hadn't gotten worse, just the gas issues, she wasn't worried it was the more serious issue. She told me he has reflux and gave me another medicine that's a muscle soother, that could help with his gas. It's on a need to use basis. So that is our next step. Dealing with a sad boy, and waiting until he grows out of it, will prove to be tricky. He has changes in appetite depending on how he feels, but still is growing well. He doesn't sleep that well, but we are trying. At night is when he struggles the most and throws up the most from laying down so much. So we hope he grows out of it soon.

Awwwww....poor Milo...and you! Hang in there...I know easier said than done but it will get better. Such a little bit to be going through all that. Blessings are wonderful....
Does it help to keep him sitting up more? I wonder if he'd sleep at a higher incline than he's got right now. I know how much gas can hurt and it is miserable at any age.
Poor guy. Hopefully he'll grow out of it quick!!
