We love this boy! He is such a special part of our family. He is by far our hardest worker, and best helper. He just LOVES to help others. It's one of our favorite things about him. If you don't let him help you clean or work, he'll go get his own rag and do it anyway. He is so physically affectionate. He just wants to cuddle you all day every day. I never have to ask him for hugs and kisses, cause he just is always giving them, telling you how much he loves you. This includes giving Gabe hugs and Milo hugs before school as well. It makes my bad days good in an instant. He is such a tease, and very much enjoys it. Especially where Gabe is concerned. He fits the mold for that silly younger brother, but he is also the best older brother. I love to watch him help Milo. He'll give up his toys in a heart beat if he knows it'll make someone else happy. He's good at sharing. He is my best mannered. He just gets that if you ask nicely, you get things. He does better when he's got a list of things we have to do in the day, which reminds me so much of his Daddy.
We keep trying to convince him to try soccer and swim lessons, but he tells us he only wants to play golf and football. (Even though as parents we are bonn have to push him a little come summer to try something) He begs his Daddy to take him golfing. He loves to hike and camp and asked all the time when we can go do one of them.
He's in this tricky stage right now where he gets anxiety with new things. He used to just be kinda shy about it. Now he freaks out. He does NOT love being the center of attention or trying new things by himself. He's super reserved and would rather observe others. We are trying are best to work through it and try to help him. I think a lot of it it temporary, but he will always be the shy kid in the crowd. At home though, he's our crazy silly Ollie.
He's always been a car boy and into trucks, but he's been super into fire trucks as well. He thinks they are so cool and tells us he just wants to either be a fireman when he grows up or a Fixer. (A Handyman) He loves to help his Daddy build things with tools.
He's always out weighed his little big sister, but now he's starting to catch up to her in the height area. I get asked more and more if they're twins, cause they are about the same size. We kept waiting for the day when he'd pass her up and look older, and we are there. A lot of people assume he's the oldest.
His favorite color is still Red. Some of his favorite shows right now are Power Rangers, Ninjago, and Justice League. He hates most Meats still and we usually make him eat three bites of them anyway. I make him drink milk most of the day and supplement meats with eggs a lot if I'm feeling nice or not up for a battle. It's a huge battle every meal usually. He's kinda a subconscious vegetarian right now. He doesn't like most sweets. Some that he thinks are alright, he won't finish eating. His favorites are vanilla ice cream with sprinkles, and snicker doodle cookies. He actually likes most candy, just not chocolate stuff. He likes licorice the best. He isn't a big fan of most soda, but likes juices, smoothies, and lemon aid. He DOES LOVE salty stuff though. Chips of any kind, popcorn, and Cheese it crackers are his favorite munchies right now.
He's still the most stubborn persistent little man we know. He is the one that always keeps up on our toes. Just when we think we have things figured out with him he'll swing us for a loop with some new trait or phase. And because he's so stubborn it usually is twice as tricky to work through.
Some of my favorite Ollie moments lately have been:
*This boy loves his hats. He and his brother hardly leave the house without them. He was mad his first day of school, and most other days actually, when he couldn't wear his hat to school.
*He has this made up song song he sings. We have all knicknamed it the "Guy Guy" song. He uses those words in the song a lot. It's actually pretty funny. Most of the time it works as a Marco Polo game for the boys cause Ollie will sing, "Guy Guy" and wherever Milo is in the house he sings, "Guy Guy" too. :)
*Gabe turned some music on and Ollie goes, "Mom, it's kinda making me need to dance."
*I was getting Gabe ready for a swim party and asked if she was gonna get in the big water. She told us no.
M:Oh ya big chicken! You scaredy cat!
O:Yeah, ya big horse!
*What's the smell?
Ollie is always smelling things, he loves good smelling things. :)
*M:When we were moving I asked the kids if they were excited.
G:I'm so excited!
O:I'm so excited too mom!
M:Good Bud!
O: What are we excited about?
*Gabe was making people bracelets one day and said that people could pay her with kisses. She made Ollie one so I told him he owed her a kiss. So they kissed.
G: EW Slobbery!
O: Yep, I always give em slobbery! (very proud of himself)
*O: Mom when I was two I liked cars and noodles a lot. Now that I'm three I don't like them so much.
M: Now that you're almost four what do you like?
O: Everything!
M: Even Noodles and Cars?
O: Yes!
* "Game on." is one of his newest catch phrases.
*The boys were both riding on Daddy's legs while he walked.
G: I want a turn!
D: I've only got two legs.
O: See, I told ya he doesn't have three legs!
*We were making a picture collage for Preschool of things that represented him. We had to put favorite toys, animals, etc.
G: What else.....What's you're favorite plant?
O: Um.... A tumbleweed!
*Gabe has recently taught Milo that kisses are yucky. She says that when Milo kisses her, cause they are slobbery. So now he says that to everyone's kisses. One day I kissed him and he told me YUCK!
M: Gabe if you taught him that kisses are yucky and he never wants to give me one, I'll be so sad the rest of my life.
O: It's ok Mom, I'll give you all the kisses you want the rest of your life!
We love this little man of ours, and although he keeps us on our toes, he is constantly making us smile and laugh. Gabe told us her favorite thing about Ollie is how funny he is. He really is a cheese ball. :) He's Milo's and Gabe's best buddy and Mommy and Daddy love him so much!

see I told you he didn't have 3 legs. HAHAHA that is the best ever! cute kid! If all boys grew up to be what the loves as kids we'd have a TON of handy-mans and firemen. It's probably a good thing they change as they get older. Levi's the same way, a fireman, or a fixer like daddy. I can't go anywhere do anything without levi needing to "fix it"
