While Adam and Gabe were in South Carolina, Ollie and I stayed up in Highland with family. It was actually cheaper for us to drive up north and have them fly out from SLC airport rather than the St George one. So I bombarded Kami's family again this month. It was really low key and casual, which I loved. It's nice to just hang out. I hope I didn't get into the way too much. Ollie sure enjoy hanging out with his cousins and all the attention he got. He actually was teething and got this silly cold a few days in. It's our curse, our kids ALWAYS get stupid colds right before a trip, and this time on it. It happens when people come to visit too. I don't know what we do, but it happens every time. So frustrating. So that meant he didn't sleep well at all, and was a little needy and cranky, but we survived. Thanks to all for putting up with us.
The last few night we spent some time at Papa and Nana's house. It was nice for Ollie to get some one on one time with grandparents and mommy. Sometimes I feel like Gabe is at such a fun stage, and that Ollie is still a little stranger weary, that he doesn't get one on one time as much to develop relationships. So it was nice to see him warm up to them, even though he was cranky.

He loved Dysen's guitar. Too bad he was a bad distraction when Dys was supposed to be practicing. Sorry!

Heidi had her baby, my new nephew who I didn't get to see due to Ollie's cold. I got his cold too so that made it even more tricky. :( He's adorable though and I can't wait to meet him.

I played doggy with Sicily a lot. She would follow me around being my doggy. I told her to lay down right here and I made a phone call to Adam. She fell asleep. It was late, it was cute.

Kami helped me make some fun simple blankets for my kiddos. My end result wasn't exactly how I would have liked, but that's what I get for not practicing sewing enough. Oh well, Gabe LOVES hers. She was very excited to see the actual blanket, especially after she picked out the fabric.

We went to dinner with Grandpa and Grandma Weiss. I felt bad cause this was Ollie's worse night. He was so cranky, he would just start crying when they looked at him. He did eventually warm up after they played with him a bit.

Fascinated by the snow. Shantay was so good to show him stuff and play with him. Really all the kids were so wonderful to put up with Ollie in their faces all the time.

I love my sleeping boy. Poor boy couldn't breath the whole trip and drooled all over the place. I'm taking serious puddles of drool, I thought he has leaked out of his diaper or something at first.

Ollie got to experience his first set of stitches. I say first set, cause I know it unfortunately will not be his last. I put the picture below on so you can see the metal framing around the window. We went to grab lunch with Nana, and the place had some on their windows. We sat at a booth and I just let him stand and walk on the bench while eating. Chalk it up to bad parenting, but he hates high chairs right now, and he was doing just fine. He would come take a bite and then go look out the window. Well one trip back to the window, his foot fell in the small crack between the window and the bench. If we would have fallen INTO it instead on ONTO it, it probably wouldn't have been as bad. Since his cheek fell hard onto the top edge, it cut pretty deep. It wasn't a long gash, but deep enough to make us think he needed stitches. I'm glad Nana was there with me, cause it wasn't a fun decision and I had no idea what I was doing. Also holding him down while they wrapped him in a sheet to give him shots and two stitches, was extremely hard not to cry with him. Especially since he was shaking in my arms. They then had to put a sterilization cover over his whole face, and it made him that much more freaked out. Poor boy. Well we survived and he is getting them out tomorrow. I do think he should have had one more, which the doctor almost did.

This was how he was feeling the last day of the trip. Good thing it was "going home" day. I look equally as happy to be dealing with such a grumpy guy.

We stopped at Erich and Laura's house before the airport. Ollie got to hold Deandra's bird. He was freaked out at first, but when I helped him hold it, he was all for it.

We went straight home from the airport. We talked about waiting and hanging out somewhere, but we really just were over it and wanted to get home. Ollie slept a bunch on the way home not having his nap yet. Poor Gabe asked if we were home yet before we even reached Santaquin. With a little effort, new games, and a few new toys she survived and did really well. We got home and Daddy showed us how a train set should really look like.

Thanks again for coming. We loved having you and Ollie all to ourselves.
Wish we could've visited with you too. It looks like everyone had a blast in s.c. I hope those kids grow out of their "get sick" every trip. That sounds miserable for everyone.
Awwww....poor little Ollie...but what a fun time for sure! I'll bet you were ready to go home. Nothing like home!
We loved having you guys down!!! And I personally think your blankets turned out fantastic! It was fun to get to hang with You and Ollie! I'm glad everyone else got to hang with you too. The train set looks pretty cool! I bet your kids are loving it.
