We went and hiked Kolob Canyon today. It was one of their free National Park days, so we took advantage of it and went and played. It's still considered Zions National Park, but it's outside of it. Not sure how that works, but that's what they say. It's more north past Toquerville. Adam actually wants to camp there one of these days. We actually both thought it was more beautifully scenic than Zions, and it's a lot less crowded. Zions is super cool, and has amazing rocks and cliffs, Kolob has a lot of green mixed in. It's a nice combination between the red rock and the green. We loved it. It only has three trial heads, so it's not that big. We went on the first trail that was actually a five miler. We barely did a mile. Blame it on a huge ready to be due prego woman and two small kids. One of these days we'll finish all of these fun trails. I was hoping for some real labor, but just got stuck with Braxton Hicks the whole hike. Ah well, can't say I didn't try hiking with ALL my kids when pregnant. ANYWAY, here are some pictures from our fun fun day. My camera is seriously broken, and we are sending it in, so we once again have phone pics. :( Sorry.
Getting Ready to go
Some scenic Pics
We drove up to the top to see some good views
We then came back down to our hike. This scout group had found some toads in the creek and were showing them to the kids. Gabe was brave enough to hold one, Ollie had no desire to even go by it.
Lizard hunting
Anytime there were these yellow flowers, they were swarmed by butterflies. If you were slow enough, you could get the butterflies to land on you. It was pretty cool.
Ollie just wanted to play in the water the whole time. We had to stop to do some good rock throwing.
Climbing every rock, and jumping off every rock was a must on the way back.
On the steep parts they had these stairs built to climb. It was nice hiking with kids, cause you didn't have to worry about slipping.
Loved our fun hiking day as a family. I love that my kids enjoy doing this as much as we do.

You are such a cute family! What a nice place for sure. You will have to go back and camp there.
I've always wanted to go to Kolob Canyon. I remember it from Zions, but never been. Too cool.
I love that Gabe held the frog. Good for her! Do the kids have to pee all day with water packs on their backs all day? Glad you guys had such a great time! Looks like such an adventure!
Looks like so much fun! Your kids look adorable with the bandanas on their heads. I am so proud of Gabe for holding the frog. I love that they have to jump off all the rocks they pass. Sounds like my kids. What a fun day. We'll have to try going their some time.
