Happy Early Mornings
My child is a morning person. She always has been despite our efforts to change it. We've tried keeping her up later, and all that jazz. (Numerous times) On trips when she gets no sleep she still wakes up at the crack of dawn. Don't ask me where it came from, cause neither Adam and I love the mornings. It's hard to be annoyed getting up between 5:30-6:30 (If I'm lucky), because Gabe is SOOO happy. She calls out for me in the morning, "Momma! Mom!" I walk half asleep into her room, She gives me me this huge cheese and says. "Hi Momma!" She then begins to ramble about all of her toys she sees and tells me, "Daddy na nigh, SHHH!" We have to talk about how Daddy is home, but is asleep so we should be quiet. We sometimes play this game where she won't get out of her crib until she has been tickled like crazy. She tells me," Daddy happies. Momma happies. Froggy happies. Cookies happies." etc. (She tells me all the things that make her happy-every morning it changes. It always begins with Daddy and cookies usually end up in there.) She is ready to go from the moment she wakes up. She wants to play with toys, read books, watch a show, and eat some food. So we play, and cuddle and watch shows and munch. She loves it when it is time to wake up Daddy so she can jump on him and have him tickle her. So even though I'm not a morning person, Gabe makes it worth it. I love spending time with her, and she makes the early rising worth it.

Geez, story of my life. How on the earth did we end up with two little morning people at our house, when both of us are SO NOT morning people!
Kennedy and Gabe should be getting together for an early morning party--they sound equally excited to greet the day! 6:30 AM starts the same way every day:
"Hi, mom, hi! Time to get up! Happy morning to Kennedy! Yay for sleeping in my bed, time to get up! How bout some breakfast, hmmmm? Oatmeal, blueberry oatmeal! Quick, Dad, quick, Addy is huuuunnngggrry! Come on, up time. Wake up sleepy heads!" It's exhausting, but you're right--it's kind of too cute to be mad at!
I'm waiting to see what happens with daylight savings this weekend. I'm kind of hping to use it to push bedtime just a little later, to 7:30ish (currently between 6:30 and 7:00) and see if she could just manage to sleep until 7:00 in the morning. It will probably backfire horribly, as most daylight savings transitions do, but I can hope!
How adorable! I think even I could be a morning person if I had Gabrielle to wake up to! What a peach.
Sadly I am starting to be able to relate. Sicily has been getting up at 6:30 for the last little while. Much to my dismay! But she too is so cute and happy it is hard to be mad. I am scared for summer when it is lighter even earlier. I love Gabes cute pics!
I knew she had to have some of my genes! Mornings are the BEST!! You people who insist on trying to sleep in are missing the best part of the day! Gabe and I will have a wonderful time when I come to visit and we can get up and play bright and early. Maybe we could even go for an early morning walk to let you sleepy heads try to catch a few more zzzzs!?!
After 4 years of early morning seminary and not being allowed to miss a day, I've decided I get a break from mornings. Thankfully Sarah Grace is ok that. But I admit that I am more productive in the mornings. haha I'm sure its nice to wake up to such a sweet face!
Cute as a Button!!!
