My Baby Boy is 6 Months Old!!

Ah! I can't believe that how fast he is growing up. I really feel like once they hit six months, it all goes at warp speed. Before you know it they are one, and walking. AH! It kinda doesn't help he's a big kid, I feel like his little stage went way too fast. Did he have a little stage? ;) This cute visiting mom at church who just had her first baby was talking to Adam about her little boy who was only a few weeks old. She asked how old Ollie was. When Adam told her six months, she goes, "Oh that's what mine will look like when he turns six months." Adam just laughed. He says, "I don't know about that, our boy is a little bigger than most." Well he is, but is starting to slow down a bit. Which is nice. He's getting heavy! Ha! We had his six month check up Monday. Here's the stats:

-He weighs 18 pounds 14 ounces, putting him in the 75th percentile. (Gabe was 18 pounds at a year) :P
-He is 27 and a half inches long, putting him in the 90th percentile.
-His head size is 17 3/4 inches round, putting him in the 70-something percentile.

Here are some new fun things going on with our little man. Also a million pictures. I can't help it, he's the cutest little guy ever. I actually didn't post as many as I wanted to. So here you go.

*He is amazing on outings. I shouldn't say that, cause it'll probably jinx me. He really is. Car rides, grocery carts, in the stroller. Unless he gets hungry, he's pretty content to hang out. It's really nice.
*He loves to tuck in his bottom lip and suck on it, and his tongue is always sticking out of his mouth. If it's not one of those he's talking or blowing raspberries.
*He loves to stand.
*Does a bunch of crunches trying to sit up on his own.
*He is in our room right now and he loves to turn his mobile on. It sometimes makes him fall back to sleep or wakes him up more. The funny thing is, his babbling or screaming doesn't even effect Adam. As soon as he kicks that on, Adam is wide awake.
*Some of his nicknames right now are: Ollie boy, Ollie bear, Handsome, Stinks, Stinker, Little man, and Buddy.
Gabe calles him: Brother, Buggy, Bubs, and Bubba.
*He now sits up on his own. He's done amazing for a while. I now can leave him doing it and he even is catching himself most times when he tips. If he does fall over he looks like a potato bug. He kinda tucks his body and rolls. It's funny and adorable.
*For a while I could only get him to eat carrots, peaches, and bananas. Now he's pretty good at eating whatever we give. He still loves plain rice cereal. He loves juice and is kinda getting the hang of a sippy cup.
*He loves to talk and Jabber non stop. He says, "Ma Ma, Da Da, Ba Ba.."
*He loves it when Gabe talks to him.
*He still hates being on his tummy. He only rolls on it if he really wants something. At night time he accidentally rolls on his stomach, and it freaks him out.
*He bites down on everything, and always has. You would think he is teething. (He's not)
*He tries to wiggle and roll when I change him, I get to wrestle him so I can change him.
*When I feed him he has to eat with one leg up in the air or kicking. When really tired his arm goes in circles too. He is really easily distracted when he eats. It has to be really quiet or else he won't eat. It's fun.
*I can't get his blanket away from his after he falls asleep anymore. He tucks it in between his legs and rolls to his side, while putting on a death grip and wraps his arms around it. The boy loves his blanky, and has found away to keep me from taking it from him after he falls asleep. Stinker.
*He gets mad when you take stuff away from him, which leads to my next point...
*I am afraid for him to crawl, and would be okay with him taking his time. I've been told that it sounds mean to say this, but it's true. I've said how he dives and lunges for things. He's already showing that daring boy curiosity. Gabe seemed curious, but cautious. Ollie, already shows signs of being one of those boys that jumps off everything, and is into everything. I don't feel as rushed to get to that stage. Especially with how many little toys of Gabe's are always all over the house. Should be an interesting adjustment. I even buckle him into his high chair and swing, cause if I don't he's trying to wiggle out and will fall. (we didn't even think about buckling Gabe) So I am excited for him to develop and be mobile, but I'm not at the "first baby rush" phase where you want everything to happen fast. I'd be okay to wait a little longer, now that I say that it'll probably jinx me and he'll be mobile soon. :)
*He's as smiley as always. He's getting a little cautious of strangers, but kinda gets over it if they are smiley and happy.
*He thinks his Daddy and Sister are hilarious.
*Went through a phase where he loved to fake cough
Happy six month Ollie boy! We love you little man!

He is getting too big to sleep this way in his crib, but this is the way he always wants to sleep

This is his tucked lip look

Still loves his blanket

Handsome boy - I feel like I've been really deprived since I have had so little time for him to get to know me. I am so looking forward to May!
And with his weight - you should have amazing upper body strength!

Oh, he is so stinkin cute! I love that he's a big boy. From what you say, he reminds me of how Ty was at that age, fearless, active, and happy. I love the pic where it looks like he is going to eat Gabe. I cracked up at Gabe's expression. She's such a good sister. I can't wait to meet him in person.

He really doesn't look like he's 6 months. I sure hope my baby boy stays on the small size. Mom comments every time she sees me "you're bigger every time I see you" Guess they can be big boys together have more fun wrestling together. Give Gabe's face a break. He is so adorable.
