HAPPY HALLOWEEN!!!

Halloween was an awesome day, but any holiday with kids is awesome. Gabe was so excited and asked to wear her costume the second she woke up. I told her not until later. Meanwhile we made some Halloween masks, read some Halloween books, and watched some Halloween shows on TV. It kept her happy and busy. Gabe chose to be a bee this year, and we dressed Ollie as Harry Potter. We figured it's kinda the last year to get away with it, plus he looked great in his glasses.
Gabe didn't really understand who he was, just knew he was a wizard. One day we were watching the sword and the stone and she asked if Merlin was a wizard. When I told her yes, she goes, "Oh that's who Ollie will be for Halloween." :)

Later Daddy got home a little early and we headed over to the library. You could ride the carousel for free if you dressed up, and they had a bunch of games for kids. All free. When you played the games they gave you a ticket or a few depending on how well you did. You then took your tickets to the library's basement to redeem them for candy or other knickknacks. It was cute. They had a haunted house too, but we opted out of that one. We also Trick or Treated on the three floors of the library to all the librarians.

We then headed over to our ward dinner and trunk or treat party. (after a quick stop at home to video chat with Nana and Papa) I didn't take any pictures. I think Adam might of from his phone. I'll have to get those later. They had some bbque sandwiches and a bunch of sides. It was good. Gabe had to go and ask EVERYONE what they were dressed as and to tell them she was a bee. Gabe loved going around to all the cars and everyone got a hoot out of Ollie's costume. I got asked a few times if people could take his picture. Everyone was amazed he kept his glasses on. He likes hats and glasses and if you distract him after you put them on him, he kinda forgets about them too. :)

We then came home and let the kids go to a few of the neighbors we know. Mainly cause Gabe wanted the door knocking experience. We then let them explore all their goods. They were very excited with all the candy they got. It was a nice day. Hope everyone else's day was great!

Getting a good picture of them together was impossible.

Didn't want his picture taken
She wanted a million pictures of her taken. She kept reminding me what I needed to take pictures of.

Good of Daddy to dress up to get a free ride
Gabe loved these games
Ollie was content to hang out and watch

She got her face painted
And her fortune told. She didn't really understand what he was talking about, so she just chatted with him nice. He told her she'd get loads of Candy.

Ollie's favorite prize was a toothbrush one of the librarians gave him

Sharing candy with Ollie is tricky, he doesn't want to let go
After Ollie was asleep we played around a little more in our masks

How fun! Love that your library does fun games and stuff for the kids. No to mention the free carousel for dressing up. I would too! Tell Gabe she is the cutest bee I've ever seen! And Ollie is adorable!!! I'm impressed he kept the glasses on. Did you make his scarf? Getting pics of both at the same time is always tricky. I love that Gabe is always ready and willing to pose for pics. What cute kids!

p.s. I love that Ollie's favorite prize was the toothbrush! I wish my kids would get that excited about a toothbrush. :)
