Reading books together
It's freezing outside but it doesn't stop us from barbecuing all year round. The kids watching from a distance.
Daddy giving Ollie an Annuity lecture at his office. He didn't get much out of it, but he had fun. ;) We actually went to take his Christmas decor down and knew we'd be there late. We brought the kids pajamas to change into, thus Ollie in his diaper.
Hiking with Daddy. Ollie trying out his new camelbak he got for Christmas.
Hiking the canyon behind our house
We started a kid date night rotation this year. One month one parent stays with one child, while the other takes the other out. The next week they take the other child out. The next month the other parent takes the two out separately for one on one time. It's nice to give them some individual time and love. Milo hangs with whoever is at home. He'll later get rotated in. If any of that made any sense. Just know it's fun and works for us right now. Some outings will be small some will be a bigger deal. We're excited for this new tradition.
Girls night at home baking cookies and playing ponies
Meanwhile the boys went out for ice cream, and ran to some "boy" stores together.

I love the hiking areas behind your house! I would have such fun there also. I love the eyes on your kids! Kids date night is a great idea!
We tried to do that off and on during our children's early years. It was tough to keep up when we didn't have much money, but it sure is a good idea!
What a fun idea to have date night with your kids. I cant wait til we can do that will both our girls too.
