Gabe's Birthday

We woke Saturday morning to warm sunny weather, and we still contemplated going over the mountain to Sacramento. I'm glad we didn't, cause the day got cold and crummy fast. I woke up and attempted to make her pancakes, and then waffles from two recipes I have made numerous times. I don't know what the deal was, neither worked, so we woke up Daddy and went to Ihop. Ha. We let her open a few presents we got her and she was thrilled.




We decided since we couldn't go to a real zoo, we'd go to the "zoo" here in Reno. It is kinda ghetto and run down, but for a two year old it was good. It reminds me more of going to a small petting zoo. It looks like a barn with chain link fences. They had a lot of normal farm like animals and some tigers and a few monkeys. I think Gabe was the most excited about the bunnies. Go figure. It was outside of course, so we froze the whole time, but it was fun.






She helped me frost her cupcakes we made, and enjoyed licking the spoon afterwards. When she woke up from her nap later, we went with some friends to see the new Shrek movie. Gabe did great. She got a little fidgety towards the end, but popcorn and a slushi helped. She was so cute sitting in those folding movie chairs by herself, trying to eat popcorn. She's so little, that the chair kept trying to fold up on her. She was determined to try and sit there like a big girl though. We came home and ate her cupcakes and she attempted blowing out her candle. She tried really hard, and her face was adorable, but in the end she needed some help. It ended up a fun random day, and she loved everything about it.
