Well I have to say that 11 months kinda snuck up on me a little. It's been a busy month. This boy of ours has come far in one month. It's amazing what they learn. It always seems like this is the big mimicking month. They notice things you do and say, and even facial expressions, and then tries to do it themselves. This is how it's been with Milo. So it's been a lot of fun, but it's kinda also an eye opener that your baby is really not a baby anymore. :( Slow down bud! Don't think he'll go for that, he's loving life.
Well this is the first month that we haven't had to deal with regular sickness in a while. We still did get a consultation with an ENT we were referred to. (yep still saw a doctor this month) He talked past issue stuff with us and future options if he has problems. We obviously are hoping for a healthy boy, but if he gets another infection, we'll most likely get tubes. We hope not, but we'll see. The chiropractor stuff we did really did seem to help well. It healed him up pretty dang fast, and we hope it prevents other issues. Guess we'll wait and see on that too.
Well one would think that we got well rested sleep this month with no ear infections. Yeah that didn't happen at all. He did sleep pretty well for Milo, at the beginning of the month. Then this boy teethed and struggled with it. He now has four teeth so far. He also got this fever and rash for a few days that he struggled with as well. At first I thought it was from milk that I tried him on, but it wasn't. Some random virus he got that gave him a rash. Fun times. I do have a goal at some time this year to have him sleeping through the night. Phew wish me luck it might take that long.
Getting these pictures this month was really a joke. I don't have a good camera to take them with, and he moved and wiggled and wouldn't hold still. This is the best we could get with Adam's better camera on his phone.
*This boy is such a loving cuddler. He LOVES to be held right now and hates to be put down. It is so hard. Ha! He kinda just gets to deal with sitting on the floor sometimes, and he lets ya know he isn't pleased. Sorry bud. He also is very jealous. He doesn't love when one of the other kids is cuddling or sitting on Mommy or Daddy. He's a little possessive of us. It's a cute hard thing. We are trying to teach him he needs to share.
*He loves to give kisses. They've slowly evolved from a big open mouth, to tongue out licking you, to recently puckered lips. He loves to tease. He's such a stinker. He'll pretend to give Gabe kisses when she asks, and when he gets close to her he shakes his head no at her and laughs. Stinker.
Giving Mommy kisses
He has had these funny facial things he does. He went through a phase where he'd pucker his lips and just talk. (Like the pics below) Another one he would throw his head back and look up and talk or make a funny noise. It was funny.
He's always so happy when he's done napping. He is so dang happy he usually just giggles at you.
This is him throwing his head back to talk.
*He eats what we eat mostly, just cut up super small. Not a lot of teeth to chew yet.
*He loves water bottles and straws
*His hair is still brown, but it's lighter right now and getting lighter the more sun that gets to it. I don't think he'll go blond, but it's cute on him.
*Well he has caught up on his parlor tricks. He gives high fives, claps, points to his nose, clacks his tongue, waves ba-bye, and bounces and bends his knees when he dances. He is also starting to point to other body parts. Well I shouldn't say point, he doesn't have the one finger thing down. He uses his fist. He also will sign "All Done" one handed. :) He also breathes in and out of his nose really fast cause he thinks it's fun. He does is a lot when he is cruising fast walking along the furniture. He even has his fake cry and a hilarious fake laugh down.
*He blabbers a bunch on his own. He says Ma Ma and Da Da more lately which is fun. He does say "Uh-oh", or "Oh-oh" when he drops something.
*He loves his toothbrush. He's getting tall, but not too round. He still wears 12-18 month clothes. Do you like his muscle onesies that are in a lot of these pics? (Sleeveless onesies) We live where it's hot, and I like onesies on my kiddos while they are younger. I don't like when you hold them and their shirt rides up and you are rubbing skin. We like onesies so those were what I found. :)
*He loves to push cars around on the floor. He still loves to play with balls as well. He'll roll a ball back and forth on the floor with Adam.
*He could sit there and watch the washer and dryer forever. They fascinate him.
*This boy loves sweets. He gets mad at you if you don't share. He's pretty spoiled. He will be so fun on his birthday. Our other two didn't get many sweet things for a while, Milo gets to sample most things.
The rash we dealt with this month
*Milo loves popsicles. He eats them really well on his own too
*Milo LOVES being outside. If he sees a door open he bolts to try to get out.
*He is just starting to think Ollie is funny. He never quiet knows how to take Ollie. He's loud and in your face, and Milo wasn't quiet sure about it. Now he has started to smile and giggle more at the craziness. It's funny to watch.
*Well this month I've started to try and break bad sleeping habits, but then something else happens like fevers and rashes, or teething, or tummy aches. (He still has a sensitive tummy) It's a mess. So he's slept somewhat good, and HORRIBLE this month. His napping is getting tricky too. He is starting to sometimes fight a second nap. So looks like I get to adjust things a bit. If you do hold him when he's falling asleep he has to hold onto something. He likes to grab it and grab it and grab it like pinching when he falls asleep. So he will sit there and pinch your arm or neck over and over again. It hurts!
*When my kids start getting around 11 months I start weaning. I like to be done by 12 months. Hey I put in my year of breastfeeding like recommended, and when a year hits I'm over it and want my body back. :) So I started trying out some milk on him. He probably took to it the best of all our kids. Gabe took forever, and Ollie took a while. Milo was weirded out by it a few days, and then just started drinking it. He loves it now. He still struggles drinking out of anything. He still spits out half of anything he drinks from his mouth. It's because he grasps with his tongue to drink instead of his teeth and lips like our other two did. He is the only kid I didn't have to deal with teething and having him bite me. WONDERFUL! No complaints here. He just doesn't bite down to drink. He's getting better at drinking out of stuff but still makes messes. We are ready for him to get the hang out it though, it's kinda a pain.
*I officially hate these darts. They are slowly being banned from the house. Milo gets them and puts them in his mouth and then pulls and eventually get the purple suction cup off. EVERY TIME! Then he almost chokes on it. It's hard cause Ollie is so into these guns right now. So I tell Ollie he can play with them while Milo is sleeping and then we have to clean them up well. Well of course they get hidden behind or under things and Milo finds them EVERY TIME! In these pics we were having a war with them in the kids room so he was collecting them all as fast as he could and was in heaven.
Telling me, "Oh-Oh."
*Of course he's into everything. He's started to climb a little. He gets into all the cupboards leaving chaos in his wake. He loves outlets. He tried to plug things into them, so we have most covered.
Hurray he says. He's so proud he pulled stuff out.
When Daddy wrestles with the kiddos, Milo doesn't even hesitate, he joins right in no matter whats going on.
*He isn't walking yet. We wondered if he'd beat Ollie or tie him. Ollie was walking back and for to us before 11 months and walking independently around before he turned one. Not sure Milo will be that way. He kinda has gone all rebellious on us. We try to get him to walk back and forth between us and he sits and refuses a lot. He doesn't have the patience for it. He would rather crawl fast and get on with it. Gabe was the same way. Always somewhere to go, and no time to deal with trying to learn to walk there. So we'll see when that happens.
Next stop, one year! AH!

One year? No way!! That BLOWS my mind. I don't remember the last time I saw him. Blessing maybe? So sad. I'm missing those kids so much.
