I just have to say that I am so thrilled that my son is old enough to start this tradition with his Daddy. Ollie LOVES his Daddy and looks up to him like crazy. He always wants to be the Daddy in games, and wants to go to work with him every day. So for them to have one on one like this makes me happy. The Father and Sons campout is an annual campout wards do for the Priesthood commemoration. (Or to celebrate when the priesthood was restored to Jospeh Smith) All the priesthood members go camping.
Adam actually had a golf tornament to go to on Saturday for the Rotary club he's in so they didnt spend the night. He tried getting out of it all week, cause he really wanted to camp with Ollie.
They went up fishing and then had dinner. Adam cooked them some Dutch oven pizza. Then they hung out for a bit and came back down later that night.
They went up by Kolob reservoir.
Everytime Adam sees these pics he just tells me how much he just loves this cute boy of ours. They had a blast.
Ollie was so excited to tell me the next day about the fish he helped his Daddy catch.
I'm kinda glad they didn't spend the night cause it was unnaturally cold that weekend. Adam says they froze while up there. I'm glad I thought to send them with extra clothes.
Ollie had fun playing with some of the other boys up there. Adam changed Ollie into his pajamas before coming down and accidentlly left Ollies only pair of jeans on the ground. Luckily our bishop grabbed them. When he was talking about the weekend at the pulpit on Sunday he mentioned our jeans on his list of left behind items. Ha. It was funny. All the priesthood holders got up for a rest hymn and sang "Secret Prayer". It was really good.
Meanwhile at home Gabe and I of course had a girls night. (Plus a baby) Gabe kept saying, "No boys allowed, except cute baby Milo."
We made chocolate chip pancakes for dinner. I put Milo to bed and we painted our nails and I painted Gabes face. We then ate Oreos in milk and watched a Barbie movie together. It was a blast and she was so happy. We like the tradition of the boys gone too so we could hang out together.

I always loved having the boys head off for Father and Sons too - it makes for great girls night out parties! But I never understood why the men always cooked steaks at F & S and the girls at camp got hotdogs!
That sounds like a great time. can't wait for those traditions here at my house!!
