Mother's Day

I love Mother's Day. Not only cause you get spoiled and reminded you are appreciated. I love it because its a nice reminder to me what I'm doing is important. It also helps me understand how I can do better at this important job I have of raising my kids. I love being able to be at home raising my kids. I'm so grateful for the opportunity I have to be a mother. I'm also grateful for a wonderful man who is my partner in doing this. He is the best father ever. I love that my goals of being at home are important to him as well, and he works so hard to make it possible. My day was so great. I love my family.

My day started out very nice with being able to sleep in and breakfast in bed.

For Adams birthday I got him tools he wanted to give him a new hobby of building things. ( no hidden agenda on my end) We finally got around to buying some wood. I wanted him to make me hanging book shelves. I told him for Mother's Day I wanted him to finish them. :) So he worked all week on them and got them done. They aren't painted or stained yet, cause I haven't decided what I want for that yet. They look so wonderful. Thanks babe! 

Adam also surprised me by making me home made sushi. The best surprise ever. I knew he could make it and I've asked him to a few times. We just never get around to it. So he decided he'd make me some. He made me two rolls. One with cooked salmon, cream cheese, and avocado. The other had the same except crab instead of salmon. So yummy. It will now be requested more frequently than he would like. 

At church they gave us flowers, which I actually prefer. I'm not a cake fan and usually the chocolate they give out it something I don't love. So I like flowers. I love having Gabe sing songs with the primary. I think because she's so excited to do it. Then she stands up there and sings her little heart out while grinning cheesily at you the whole time. It's priceless. They spontaneously asked random primary kids while up there what they loved best about their moms. They never asked Gabe but she told me when she came down if they were gonna ask her she'd tell them she likes when I play with her. 

For dinner I requested something simple since I had a grand breakfast and sushi all day. For dessert Adam surprised me with fondue. It's the first time we've done it just with our family. We've always done it with company. It was so nice just to hang with the kids and chat and eat.

Adam had the kids paint me some while he made me breakfast. This will never get old to me. There is nothing sweeter to me than my kids trying to express their love in a way they know how to.
