They make you take the shuttle to all of the trail heads. There are eight stops along the way and you get off wherever you want to go play, or you can ride the shuttle the whole way for a tour. It has a voice telling you all about everything. Our kids loved the idea of the bus ride until the second stop. Ha! We kept talking up the waterfall so Gabe would be excited, so she just wanted to hike to see it. Ollie just wanted off. Of course weeping rock was the sixth stop.
The hike was easy. A little too easy. Next time we will do a longer trail. It ended up being only a mile both ways. It was steep so we worried Gabe would struggle, but she did awesome. The waterfall was more dried up this time of the year, but the constant rain that fell was cool to see and fun to play in. When we were done, we drove in the mountain tunnel, just cause we could, and then we headed home.
It was an awesome random adventure. Can't wait to do it again and again. We all loved it. Here are some of the million pictures we took.

When we finally let Ollie loose, he was CRAZY. All over the place crazy. He wouldn't listen, cause he wanted to go and adventure and see everything. Finally Adam ended up holding him like this. The little turkey.
He was dead set on climbing up the side of this mountain side. It was too funny, we couldn't keep him away. We finally let him at it.
He was mad at me for grabbing him off the hill before he fell.

love, love, love, love, LOVE that place! i dont think we saw the waterfall very full either. you need to hike angels landing sometime. its scary. you wont take the kids (so plan accordingly) and wear your best shoes. i'll come with!
What a cool place. I am glad it is not too far from where you live. Future trips will be awesome. Glad you guys got to go!
No entry fee...that's awesome! What a fun day for all of you guys. I'm jealous. It looks like a blast. Your kids look so cute in their little hats. It's so beautiful there. Your pics turned out fantastic. Especially the one where Ollie is catching the water drop...so cool. Too bad the waterfall couldn't have been going full blast. Still totally cool though. Ollie determined to climb the mtn made me laugh. And Gabe's adorable smiling face in the pics tell it all. Looks like you all had a blast.
