Pumpkin Carving

This was part of our pumpkin day, but I wanted to do a different post for it. This year we actually got free pumpkins. They weren't big ones, but we didn't need big ones for little kids. They were just as content with pumpkins they could carry. Thanks to nice farmers in the area who just want to give away extra small random pumpkins. 

Gabe pretty much did most of her by herself this year. It was kinda nice and fun to see how much she loved it. Ollie doesn't love the guts or having dirty hands. He never has liked being dirty. So he still wasn't that into emptying the pumpkin. He did like helping Daddy poke and carve though. 

Milo was hilarious. He loves digging with a shovel in the sandbox outside. It's one of his favorite things to do. So when he saw us all using tools and our hands to empty these pumpkins, he jumped right in to help Gabe. He didn't even hesitate with the gooey insides. So cute. We just laughed. He wanted to help everyone, and try all the tools. It made the night super fun.

Thanks to Nana for the fun pumpkin stickers. We put them on the back of our pumpkins. They were perfect for Milo's pumpkin. His was still not ripe and small so it was rock hard, so we couldn't carve it. The stickers made it super cute. 

Milo of course had to put the pumpkin in his mouth. He liked chewing on it. Silly boy. 

Ollie has Jake from the Neverland Pirates this year. It's who he is being for Halloween. Gabe's was actually Rainbow Dash the pony. She wanted an Izzy one like her costume, but we couldn't find one. She was happy with a pony. She carved and cleaned a lot of it. Turned out pretty cute. 

By the end of the night our kids were way past their bedtime and super grumpy, and still getting over colds, so this was the best picture we could get. They were mad to share chairs or not hold pumpkins, or to have to turn back on the lights, etc. Time for bed. For the record though, it was a fun evening with them. We love carving pumpkins.
