Okay I finally got my 3 trip posts up. We made it in time for Easter, which was so important to Gabe. She was worried the Easter bunny might miss us. It was quite the packed day cramming everything in, but still good.
Coming out in the morning to see what was left
Ollie loved hunting for eggs, especially when he realized candy was inside them
The kids got some fun outdoors stuff in their baskets this year. They got kites, which we still haven't used yet. Of course windy Hurricane isn't windy when we want it to be. They got some bug nets, and holding/examining containers. Then they got some fishing poles from a egg hunt mom and dad sent them on later in the day.
Daddy helped them catch a bee. Gabe loved looking at it, especially if it couldn't touch her.
Ollie's had a...cockroach. Gross I know, but they are in plenty supply down south here. They tried for some butterflies, but could never catch any. They later caught a fly
Gabe loves the hunting part about Easter. Last year we made a hunt with clues and she loved it, so again this year we did it. It was just as exciting if not more.
It ended with pictures of Christ coming out of the tomb and a message from mom and dad. In the future I'd love to end with something Christ related, but I just gotta plan in advance a little better. (Like a picture for their room, etc)
We did have them find their fishing poles too. They both are so excited for these. Gabe actually has an awesome cast already. Now daddy just needs his license and a pass to the reservoirs and we can go.
We also dyed eggs this day. Normally we wouldn't do it on Easter, but because of our trip, we didn't want the eggs sitting in the fridge all weekend. So we did it on Easter this year. It was still fun, it just made the day a little too hectic for a holiday.
Ollie was so funny. I couldn't stop laughing. He would slam eggs in the same cup. He usually had four in one color at a time.
I bought a painting kit for Gabe this year, which she LOVED. It added a nice variety, even though hers ended up almost all purple. :)
Taking a time out to eat one
She at one time had colors going in all the cups
Gabe stickered some eggs for each of us, it was very nice of her.

I love that you did a scavenger hunt too. They are so much fun for kids. Great idea ending with something about Christ. I may have to try that next year. Dyeing easter eggs with little ones is the greatest. Half of ours end up cracked too during the process..:) So glad you guys made it home safe and sound and that the Easter bunny didn't miss you guys! Fun weekend!
Cute eggs! I am doing that next year even if it is just me!!! I miss dying eggs.
We didnt color eggs... kinda sad we didnt, but i didnt want to deal with the mess. hopefully next year. i love the scavenger hunt, thats a great idea.
Gabe's hair is so cute in the braid :) Glad they had a fun Easter and what fun toys to play with. Eek on the cockroach!! Hopefully they are outside the house and not getting in.
