I just had our big high adventure camp out this weekend. We have been planning it for months trying to do something that will be really fun, really challenging, and really spiritual. Afterwards we asked the boys, and they said we accomplished our goal. We went to Stampede Reservoir up by Truckee CA. Thursday we spent the entire day Wake boarding, fishing, kayaking, and battling on the big banana boats. Friday we got up and did one of the prettiest mountain bike rides in the area. It was just over 10 miles of amazing single track. Then after dinner we did a 3 mile compass hike in the dark. This was a rad experience for everyone. A 3 mile hike isn't that impressive, but when you do it in the dark with only a few barrings to guide you, its a completely different hike. There were sections that got really rough and with our pants and good hiking shoes we weren't having a very easy time. At the half way point we stopped and found a place to sit down so we could have our nightly devotional. These are some of the best testimony building opportunities. I love having devotionals around a camp fire or in the middle of no where. The spirit is alway so strong in the mountains, ask the prophets in the scriptures they will agree. We had a really good time, the boys worked really good together. It is such a blessing working with the young men we have a lot of fun and strengthen each others testimonies while we do.

Sometimes I think that the young men get to do better things than the young women. i'm jealous, looks like an awesome camp.
