The other day I told someone he was eleven months, and was so grateful I was wrong. I know that makes me sound bad not knowing how old he is, but I feel like he is growing SOOOO fast. I didn't want to correct myself, cause she probably didn't care and I didn't want to look lame. I can't keep up with him. I feel like every few days he learns how to do something new, or surprises me with something that he has learned to do. Where did my baby go? He has such a persistent little personality. If he wants something, he goes through, or over, or around something to get it. He gets a thought in his mind, and he's pretty dang determined to see it through. I hope that these are some personality traits he hangs on to. I think he'll go far in life and with his goals if he's always this way. It's so fun to see, most the time. :) Except when you really don't want him to do something, then it's not as nice. I don't look forward to see how his toddler tantrums are.
At ten months, here are some other fun things about him:
*He points to things that he wants, but he mainly reaches out his arm to them with an open hand while saying, "Eh."
*He claps and thinks it's great when he does it himself. He gives High fives, and gives kisses and cuddles on command. We take advantage of that one while we can, if we are up to his wet kisses. Poor Gabe has no choice, he climbs all over her to give her kisses even if she doesn't want one. He won't stop until he's planted one on her. He still loves to dance with us and gets excited when he hears music.
*We learned at Nana's house he's pretty good at climbing the stairs, even on his first try
*He says Mama, Dada, Something that sounds like "Done", Ga for Gabe and Greta, and Shish which he also calls Gabe. (Sissy) Not all of them are all the time except for Dada, and Mama when he's sad.
* He wants so bad to feed himself with utensils. I'm not quite reading for that mess, so we battle a little
* He loves it when I vacuum. He just follows me around playing with the long cord. No fear of the loud noise. He tries to push the red power button.
*He tries to copy everything. He takes a comb and tried to comb his hair, or finds one of Gabe's necklaces and tried to put it on, or tries to brush his teeth. He likes to mimic everyone, it's cute. Gabe loves to give cuddles and lay her head down on us, he now does that a lot, especially when he sees her do it. For a while he would get possessive of me when Gabe would try to cuddle me, but now he just tries to join in.
*He has started to stand and balance by himself. Not long periods of time, but it's starting to happen more and more.
*He's such an independent little guy as long as he's not hungry or tired. He really likes to go do his own thing and wander and play. It throws me off for a few reasons; Gabe's not that way at all, and he's been so clingy to me until now that he's mobile. It's kinda fun to see him explore, and a little nerve racking at the same time.
*He now takes sippies of milk, which has been really nice. I don't love pumping, but I don't have to do it much longer. If I could get him to take formula I'd call it quits, or if he was a tad older I'd do milk, but I can handle another month. It's nice to go places and have it handy, or have Adam or Gabe feed him. He right now loves to be rocked to sleep, and falls asleep holding his sippie. The funny thing is he tips his sippy cups up really well except when he's in his high chair. Can't figure that one out.
*He LOVES to throw things right now. Yep he's into that stage. Out of his crib, in the car, at the table, when he's mad, etc. etc.
*Last month I couldn't get him to eat hardly anything, this month he eats EVERYTHING. He's kinda this bottomless pit we say. He could eat and eat. He doesn't love breads or juice or cherrios, but most everything else he's loved. Meats, cheeses, fruit, veggies, etc. If he sees someone eating or drinking something, he thinks he needs a sample. He loves drinking out of cups and straws as well.
*He sometimes signs "more" and "all done", but it's a rare occurrence. We are working on it though. Gabe likes to remind him that he needs to sign "please" too.
*Right now he wants to be outside and playing with Daddy. He gets excited to see Adam, and has started wanting him over me which is a nice thing for us all. He wants anything, any toy Gabe has. I'm constantly "breaking them up" as he's tackling or smooshing her to get something, as she's trying to shove or kick him off. Honestly, sometimes I don't know who was in wrong. A lot of times when she sees him coming she already starts kicking or swinging. He over powers her a lot, and like I said, he's persistent. It's a fun stage.
*When he falls or bonks he cries for two seconds while he rights himself, and then he's over it. He doesn't want my cuddles or attention, he's got places to go.
*He doesn't like doors closed. I think he feels like he's missing out on something. It's funny that if there is a door closed, you can find Ollie and Greta outside of it waiting to get in. When he wakes up before Gabe I have to barricade him in the front room or else he goes and bangs on their bedroom door. If he gets in he tries to go and climb on her bed to get her. It's pretty cute and tricky all at once.
*From the last few weeks before the move, up until three night ago, he has slept HORRIBLY. Waking up multiple times in the night. A lot due to teething, and transitioning to sippies, and being sick. He just now is sleeping from about seven thirty to six thirty. It's been nice not having the interrupted sleep. He takes two naps, one 2 hour nap, and one 1 1/2 hour nap. It's not always at the same time each day, but they almost always run the same time.
*I've been trying to teach him parts of the face recently. I'm not sure if he has nose down or not. He sometimes does it, but other times he looks at you like you're crazy. Ha. So I guess we'll see. He doesn't point to it either, he just grabs the whole thing.
*He really isn't too verbal unless we are in the car. We get in the car and he rambles and jabbers. It's pretty funny.
Times a flying and Ollie is non stop go. He's all boy and we're so glad he's part of our lives. Happy 1-0 Ollie boy! Took a lot more pics this month. Maybe I was trying to make up for slacking last month....Or he's just the cutest boy ever. Either way, I'm okay with that. Sorry some aren't the best quality, it's so easy to try and pull out my phone than locate the camera.

One of the biggest ways I can tell a baby is turning into a toddler is when they finely get a neck that shows! You are going to have your hands full when he figures out door knobs. What a busy boy. And what a cutie!
The picture with him in the onesie with the Mohawk is my favorite. So funny. Hope levi is a big boy so he can handle ollies intensity when they play.
So fun to hear more about him. I love that he is so determined. We have one of those. His little facial expressions are adorable. And I love his new styled hair. So stinkin cute. It makes him look so much older! He looks so big in his pics until the washer pic and then he looks so cute and little still ( I love that pic). And the toilet paper pic is classic. Cute boy!!!
Wow...he is growing so fast! I love the washer and toilet paper pic's! You're right....he is so cute!
What a fun little guy he is!! And they will grow so fast, enjoy it while it lasts.
Love all the pics, some are classics that is for sure! He is growing so fast and accomplishing so much that is great! His little personality sounds like a lot of fun! Happy 10 months Ollie!
